scene cred

To have status in the "scene", which is the desirable aspect to a certain group in society. Usually kids at shows and people who are constantly downtown or in a park. Certain pants, shoes and haircuts can be considered scene.

indie cred

(n)When someone has indie cred it usually means that they are familiar with independent movements in cultural sectors such as art, music, fashion, and will most likely be an advocate for such changes. They are usually concentrated in urban areas that are known for their facilitation of underground cultural exchanges and are recognisable by their bold yet suave adornments. Many are visual art, design, drama or music students and fall under the under 30's age group.

respect among suburban individuals
opposite of street cred
usually, a rapper does not want burb cred, like vanilla ice had earned because he lied to make himself look ghetto
A measure of one's success at pretending to be cool online.

sidewalk cred 

What you get when you try really hard to look or sound cool, but it doesn't quite work. You're trying to get street cred, but you're unsuccessful and wind up with only sidewalk cred.
