Emotional Trashcan

A person who everyone tells their problems to.
Person 1: Why does everyone come to you for their problems?

Person 2: I don't know, I guess I'm just comforting.

Person 1: You're like an emotional trashcan. Everyone throws their problems away in you, and walk away feeling better about themselves.

trashpanda

The term "trashpanda" is a linguistic modification/simplification for the word "raccoon", also known as the common raccoon, North American raccoon, northern raccoon and colloquially as coon, is a medium-sized mammal native to North America.

Linguistic modification is a process by which more complex words can be modified in ways that clarify and simplify the text without simplifying or significantly altering the construct that is being tested. To facilitate comprehension, linguistic modification reduces the construct-irrelevant language demands (e.g., semantic and syntactic complexity) of text through strategies such as reducing sentence length and complexity, using common or familiar words, and using concrete language. Another example of linguistic modification is a simplification of the word "stingray" to "water chicken".
