Upstairs, downstairs, please shut up!

An expression used to inform someone they are behaving in a hyper or otherwise overactive manner (i.e. as in the metaphor “bouncing off the walls”) and your desire to have them tone it down a bit.

Marie: Upstairs, downstairs, please shut up!

Bobby: I’m sorry. Was I acting hyper again?

Dancing On The Rails

Doing something extremely stupid or reckless usually for the amusement of others or for the thrill of doing something daring. Often occurs as a result of peer pressure.

The expression originates from the urban myth(?) of someone dancing on the railroad tracks and paying for the foolish mistake with their life.

Dana: Look at Jimmy. He’s dancing on the rails again

Bill: What an idiot! He’ll get hurt if he doesn’t stop it!

Rolling on by

What happens when you bump into someone you know but instead of stopping to speak to you they just keep on going either without saying anything or just saying hi

Pete: I bumped into Alex today

Mel: Oh. Did he speak to you?

Pete: No he just kept rolling on by.

Babe in A Bottle

Refers to perfume/deodorant that will apparently make someone irresistible to the opposite sex. Supposedly helps transform a woman into a babe, while helping the man attract one.

Ashley: Mmmm-mmmm! Babe in a bottle. Works like a charm. I’ll get lucky tonight for sure.

Cameron: Haha! In your dreams!

Ageless Wonder

Someone who never reveals their age and never seems to celebrate a birthday. If somehow you happen upon this information and share it with others they’ll take it very offensively.

A school student who can never get enough homework assignments, puts a lot of effort into them, and always hands them in on time. While some homework humpers may have a genuine interest in learning others are just overcompensating due to a lack of a social life.
