A soul pumpkin is a flowering plant which originated in southern Africa and is particularly cherished by those of African descent (also known as a
soul brotha or
soul sista). It is commonly served along side of
fried chicken and
purple drank. It is commonly known as a
watermelon.
Soul pumpkin may also be used as bait when it is necessary to trap or distract a person of color.
