The
proximal most part of the upper
limbs(naturally always in a pair) of biologically classified
primates usually used to support walking in
primitive primates. Hands may be used to perform
precision demanding jobs such as using tools.
Humans and some intelligent primates use their hands to handle tools or grab objects. Hands consist of a central and swollen palm(mostly non
pigmented) and usually 5
digits attached to the palm through bones. One of the digits is a thumb which may or may not be free determining the
flexibility of the hand useful in carrying objects. A free thumb in
Homo sapiens has allowed the species to carry or hold objects with much ease and perform various activities using
intricate finger movement.
