The word Lightfoot probably originated in the Midwest where it was popular with people during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl era. It’s now making a comeback and refers to people who will lie to you and steal you blind after you have helped them.

Lightfoots move around a lot—go on down the road—mostly because people and the law are after them, earning their moniker ”Lightfoot”.

Nowadays, Lightfoots are often hooked on drugs or are sociopaths. Having no regard or empathy for other people, they rarely have real friends. They will jump from job to job but would rather earn their money the easy way—illegally!

They tend to be self-destructive and are often in and out of jail. A Lightfoot will take advantage of family and strangers alike, often hurting those who love them most.
