"Electronic!"
by Dylan Hewson April 20, 2005
A mostly media-made term for encompassing all forms of electronic music, as individual forms of electronic music aren't popular enough for record stores to devote full sections to. Generally, it will be found next to an equally small "dance" section that carries the more danceable stuff, while electronica section carries more listening music.
House, Trance, Techno, IDM, Jungle, Anything-core, Trip-hop, Acid/Electronic Jazz, Whatever-bient, and thousands of other obscure genres are generally stuffed into "Electronica"

Raves are sometimes called "rafes" by people in the scene who consider the concept of a traditional rave somewhat humorous. Calling a particular event a "rafe" instead of a "rave" is a slightly sarcastic way of saying, "This isn't one of those 'goofy' raves, it's more hardcore." Hardcore, of course, can refer to any number of niche elements of a rave that can be "more hardcore." (More glowsticking, more breakdancing, more HHC, more Jungle/DnB, more PLUR, more underground, etc.)
Hey did you go to the rave last night?
