A small subculture-ish group, started in Wichita KS, and North Carolina. The members of the group/subculture are usually on their computers all day, talking to friends, on a forum, or researching the social sciences. They can occasionally be found at a library, or walking to or from said library. The members of this group wear casual clothing, and a messenger bag. An example of a "messenger" outfit is: normal jeans, a grey shirt and a flannel shirt pulled over it. They tend to be smart, and very quiet.
An example of a member of the messengers is the group/subcultures anonymous creator, C.D. He wear a frayed pair of jeans, a dark grey shirt, and a reddish brown flannel shit. He has yet to start wearing a messenger, for unknown reasons.

Now AOL is trying to control the music download business with a new service called "MusicNet@AOL". It's bad enough that AOL censors content and keeps track of what you see, now AOL wants to keep track of what you hear.
Any song downloaded from the AOL MusicNet service contains DRM (Digital Rights Management) software code embedded in it. DRM is used so AOL and the RIAA can identify which AOL member is downloading which songs. If you don't believe AOL and the RIAA keep track of what you are doing online, you are a n00b. You obviously haven't read your AOL user agreement.
AOL sucks. Boycott AOL!
Hey AOL lawyer: delete this!
The word orignated in Sydney years ago around the North Shore and seems to have spread Australia wide in a matter of years. There is a suburb named Chatswood in Sydney, the word was first used by a small group of individuals from the North Shore who had a disliking for a group of individuals from Chatswood. So if you were trying to offend your Shorey mate, you would call him Chat, or if you saw something shit, ugly etc, you would call it chat.
