A people who have the guts to disagree with Bush. Unlike most other Western European countries, they have never been at war with the USA, and have been actively allied with us in the Revolutionary War and World War I.

The battlefield of Europe: The French generally dislike war due to the fact that almost half of the battles of modern Europe were fought of French soil, and the French civilians have perished by it, on their land, for over two millenia.

The second country (America was the first) to have a major revolution which favored Democracy (it didn't work out all that well). They even gave us an enormous statue for that fact.
So why are we supposed to hate The French?

a diverse organization of American Patriots better known as simply the aclu that works to protect the basic freedoms gauranteed by the U.S. Constitution
The American Civil Liberties Union believes in:

Free speech,Free press; this applies to everyone even those with radical or unpopular beliefs, defending a persons right to speak is not the same as an endorsement of that speech

Freedom of religion/Seperation of Church and State; There can be no freedom of religion without a seperation of church and state if government favors one particular religion it infringes on the those who believe in other faiths. The religious right claims inaccurately that not allowing government to force people to practice Christianity is somehow being anti-Christian which of course is ridiculous, many Christians are ACLU members

Protections against unwarranted search and seizure (privacy) protected by the fourth amendment the ACLU opposed the Patriot Act and other abuses by the Bush Administration

Opposition to "Cruel" and "Unusual" punishment which is prohibited by the eighth amendment, this includes the death penalty

The ninth amendment states that our rights are not limited to those specifically mentioned in the Constitution, basically America is a free society and the government needs to show a compelling state interest before criminalizing any private personal behavior

The fourteenth amendment gaurantees equal protection under the law, this includes gays and people of all races and religions

NOT RACIST

“Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than individuals . . . By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called “diversity” actually perpetuate racism. Their obsession with racial group identity is inherently racists . . . we should understand that racism will endure until we stop thinking in terms of groups and begin thinking in terms of individual liberty.”

A simple phrase that can be found on the Gadsden flag, and on the back windows of cars and trucks across this beautiful nation. It stands for personal freedoms and liberties, and is a message to anyone that tries to take them away.
I have a "Don't Tread on Me" sticker on the back window of my truck. And no I am not a racist, I don't hate gay people, and I don't want to secede from the Union. God Bless.

The dividing line between a country drifting away from it's original idea due to religious fanatics who would force the world to their beliefs. They believe in the untainted freedom of being an individual human. This includes the ridiculous rules put up by religion such as removing freedom of speech. Sure the KKK may be moronic bastards but from the definitions on this page, I think no more of religion. Sure NAMBLA may be disgraceful. But how right are Christians when they prohibit homosexual rights? The ACLU is the dividing line between being taken advantage of when the corruption of religion reaches the high ranks of power in this Nation's political system.

The ACLU believes in human rights and nothing more.
Me: "The ACLU sure is dandy!"
Self-conflicting moron: "They support the KKK!!"
Me: "They support their freedom of speech not the infliction of harm apon another human. This is obvious as they defend those harmed by people of authority such as the Police."

Self-conflicting moron: "You support the KKK!!"

Not an oxymoron. In fact, the term "libertarian" was first used by a French anarcho-communist back in 1857 to describe himself (an anarchist). The modern term libertarianism (economic freedoms) was originally called liberalism. The term "libertarian" describes liberty (thus, the term is also used to describe metaphysical liberty within philosophy and metaphysics), and the term socialism describes a society in which wealth is fairly distributed. Thus, it is neither a literal nor a practical contradiction.

A libertarian socialist would argue that a society based on such huge disparities of wealth is unfree. If you wish to enter into employment, you choose first and take orders later (as with liberal democracy). Libertarian socialists believe in voluntary association and economic democracy. This will allow the individual to reach his/her full potential.

The most famous example of successful libertarian socialism is the anarcho-syndicalist experiment in Spain during to Spanish Civil War, which was eventually destroyed by Communists and Fascists (see Orwell' "Homage to Catalonia" for excellent first hand reportage of this). At its peak, the anarchist union (CNT) had one million members.

Although sharing much of (if not all of) the Marxist analysis of capitalism, lib socialists vehemently oppose state socialism, especially the authoritarian socialism of Lenin, Trotsky, Mao and, more recently, the socialism of Hugo Chavez. The modern dispute between the two schools of socialism began in the First International, in which Karl Marx and Mikhail Bakunin bitterly argued over the road socialists should take. This dispute has continued ever since, with many Marxist regimes imprisoning, murdering (Russia), and exiling (Cuba) anarchists.
Modern advocates of libertarian socialism include linguist Noam Chomsky, historian and playwright Howard Zinn, and the Industrial Workers of the World ("One Big Union"), and the International Workers Association (of which the Spanish CNT is its largest affiliate).

A diverse group of lawyers and legal officials, whose objective is to defend the rights of the people of the United States from corruption that has run through the system. Often hated by Racists and especially Christians, because of their views on pro-choice for abortion, gay rights, and the like that the christian church opposes. They stand by the words in which America was made so long ago, they stand by America's true purpose, which many have lost sight of. Freedom, Liberty, and Privacy.
The ACLU is one of the few remaining organizations that hold by the principals through which America was made.
