Home and Garden Television. A cable network that devotes its themes to planting gardens, home improvement and real estate. Many of its shows--especially the real estate ones--are produced to promote materialism and entitlement and shallowness, where members of upper socioeconomic classes buy homes that are not only ridiculously large and unnecessary, but unaffordable for even most of the middle-class. In my opinion many of its real estate shows typify waste in America, but its other shows about gardening and home improvement can be helpfull.
The HGTV network, although often fun to watch and perhaps helpful in home decorating, seems to promote materialism, greed and entitlement in many of its themes.
