A very expensive fashion company that makes high quality clothes, shoes and accessories. Gucci is the definition of luxury. Though high quality, it's doubtful if anyone would notice how expensive item is unless directly examining/looking at item.
600 dollars sunglasses and shoes. Silk bags and shoe horns- Gucci.

A fashion comany started by Guccio Gucci in the late 1800s in Italy. It is now an international fashion company and is the benchmark for high-end designer clothes. Their clothes are now designed by Tom Ford. They are the makers of many lines including fragrance, jewelry, and watches. Is most commonly known for their 'double G' logo. Recently, because gucci clothing is of such high quality a bunch of ghetto idiots decided to make a term out of this prestigious name meaning cool or flashy.
Proper way: That gucci coat is blingin!!!

Ghetto (improper) way: Yo that caddy is strait up gucci!

Contrary to what most people in the West think, manga (both the singular and plural form are the same) have NOTHING to do with pronorgraphy. Some manga are pornographic, but that's just a small percentage of manga.

Manga, in Japanese, means "flowing words" or "Undisciplined words". It is an ancient art that has been used for centuries as a form of entertainment. It's basicallt Japanese comic books, which can be easily translated to English. However, just saying manga are comics from Japan is wrong.

First of all, in the US and in Europe, most comics are addressed to young children between the ages of 9 and 13. That is not the case of manga. There are 6-7 major types of manga, each having its own audience. Kodomo manga is for children. Shonen manga is for boys ages 12-18 , Shoujo manga is for gilrs age 12-18. Josei manga is for adult ladies above the age of 20, mainly working women. Seinen manga is for young men between the ages of 18 and 30, and Hentai manga is pornographic, adult manga.

As you can see, saying "comics from Japan" is wrong. Another difference between manga and Western comics is that each comics volume has its own plot, while manga volumes all follow the same plot. The artwork is VERY different. Manga has its own particular artwork, especially when it comes to human faces, particularly the eyes, chin, nose, mouth, forehead... Manga is also read from RIGHT to LEFT. (Yes, even the English ones).

In Japan, 40% of all book & magazine sales are manga. That's a huge number, considering the Japanese read A LOT. In 1998, about 3 billion manga volumes were printed in Japan, I'm sure that number is higher now.

Many manga have been translated to English and are sold everywhere.
GTO, Excel Saga, Inu Yasha, Fushigi Yugi, Naruto, Pretty Face, Hunter x Hunter, Confidential Confessions, Love Hina, and Berserk are all examples of manga.

"Manga" are Japanese comic books/graphic novels. The word literally means "whimsical pictures" in Japanese.

Manga is different from American comic books in many ways, which is why it is sometimes translated as graphic novels. Comic books in America tend to be colored, sold in thin booklets, and written for a teenage male audience. Manga is almost always black and white, serialized in manga collections before being sold in bound books, and has many different genres appealing to many different audiences. There are romantic manga for adult women, mob dramas for older men, cute fantasy comedies for young girls, and much, much more. Just about everyone in Japan reads manga, and there is something to suit every taste.

Manga series are often animated into television shows and movies. See anime.

noun: a style of animation that originated and is still heavily centered in Japan.

The word 'anime' is based on the original japanese pronunciation of the american word 'animation.'

The stereotype of the anime style are characters with proportionally large eyes and hair styles and colors that are very colorful and exotic. The plots range from very immature (kiddy stuff), through teenage level, to mature (violence, content, thick plot). The classification of 'hentai' is given to animes of a stong sexual nature.

Although over 95% of anime has nothing perverted about it, most closed-minded idiots think anime is always a form of pronography.
Although most people stop watching 'cartoons' in their early teens, there are 'animes' for all age groups.

Anime means "animation" in Japanese.

If you came here to see me call anime:
cartoon porn which is hentai, wannabe white person cartoons, or a nerds favorite hobby, then just give me the thumbs down already because my definition is precise.
Anime is a form of Japanese cartooning which either televised or on DVD or video. The comic books are called manga. Yes, there is a very big difference. If you walk into Borders/Barnes and Noble/etc. and ask for Anime, you will be sent to the DVD section. Shojo is a girl's type of anime (stories of love, achieving dreams and the type) while shonen is the boys type (wars, samuri, card battles etc.)Usually anime is much deeper than the average American cartoons. It can be funny, tragic, romantic, adventurous, sci fi and more. Stereotypical ideas: Nerds and geeks are not the only people who like anime. Not all aniime has the big twinkly eyes and extremely out of proportioned heads. It is NOT porn. See hentai. It is NOT only for kids.
Cartoon Networks's Adult swim has lots of Anime, like Witch Hunter Robin, Inuyasha, Wolf's Rain, .hack//sign, Sailor Moon, Hamtaro and more.
