| 1. | young girl | ||

A somewhat obnoxious way to refer to a young woman; if she were a "young girl" then she wouldn't be much older than seven years of age. Just use "girl" or "maiden" or "young woman" to refer to a woman who is clearly older than twelve years of age; "young girl" and "young maiden" suggest an underage girl. From "Rent".
"He had the world at his feet Glory In the eyes of a young girl A young girl... One song A song about love Glory From the soul of a young man A young man..." A "young girl" with a "young man"? Isn't that concidered child molestation? |
