Usually uttered as a three-word phrase (yadida, yadida, yadida), it is a catch-phrase for miscellaneous actions or things that the speaker either finds either too inconsequential to mention specifically or chooses not to mention specifically for some other reason. The phrase originated in the 1930's or 1940's and was originally meant as a substitute for "you know." Today, thanks in no small part to a particular episode of "Seinfeld," it more commonly appears as the abbreviated, "yada, yada, yada."
So she gets into the car and starts talking to me. We drive for over half an hour and yadida, yadida, yadida until we finally get to the stadium.
