This is a greeting meant to say what's up, what's crackin', or another such colloquial greeting. The reason it is popular is because Poppin' Fresh is the Pillsbury Doughboy's former name (the name was changed to update little Freshy's character and bring him into modern times). The phrase is not questioning what Poppin' Fresh is, rather it is using poppin' in it's slang meaning, and it is using fresh as a noun, not an adjective. Fresh refers to the person being addressed by the question.

may be used as, "What's really gracious right now shon/B/broseph?" also, if someone is getting you pissed off and you're about to throw down as in, "what's really good?" i call Tim and he's like, "What's really gracious?", and i'm like, "You're garbunkin outta control right now!"

A phrase used generally to replace the name of someone when you have forgotten who you were going to talk about. This is similar to What's his face? or What's her face?, but usually catches the other person off guard. Guy 1: So what are you doing for Labor Day this year?
Guy 2: Oh you know, I'm going home to play a game of football with what's his nuts, the guy who always ran an extra mile after gym practice. |
