1. War
War is a state of widespread conflict between states, organisations, or relatively large groups of people, which is characterised by the use of lethal violence between combatants or upon civilians. Other terms for war, which often serve as euphemisms, include armed conflict, hostilities, and police action (note). War is contrasted with peace, which is usually defined as the absence of war.
A common perception of war is a series of military campaigns between at least two opposing sides involving a dispute over sovereignty, territory, resources, religion or a host of other issues. A war to liberate an occupied country is sometimes characterised as a "war of liberation", while a war between internal elements of the same state may constitute a civil war.Throughout history, war has been the source of serious moral questions. Although many ancient nations and some more modern ones viewed war as noble, over the sweep of history concerns about the morality of war have gradually increased. Today war is generally seen as undesirable and morally problematic, although this view is contested by some. Pacifists believe that war is inherently immoral and that no war should ever be fought. This position was passionately defended by the Indian leader Mohandas K. Gandhi (called "Mahatma" or "Great Soul").The negative view of war has not always been held as widely as it is today. Many thinkers, such as Heinrich von Treitschke saw war as humanity's highest activity where courage, honor, and ...

2. Drug War
The concerted, long term and failing effort to repeal the laws of supply and demand.
A six times growth in the prison/jail population since 1972, climbing death rates, and the funding of our enemies with no real improvement in the initial problem. Also see insanity and pointless.
Refer to Law Enforcement Against Prohibition for more details on Drug War

4. Man of War
A northeastern united states based slang term.
Usually reserved for describing a gentleman who has
righteously abandoned proper sexual etiquette. While in a drunken state, the man becomes enraged at his otherwise uncooperative genetalia, therein causing him to become volatile and unsafe with its use.

5. console war
The orginial console war between Nintendo's SuperNES (Super Famicom) and Sega's Genesis (MegaDrive), circa the early '90s. Most likely what old school gamers think of when the term "console war" is thrown about.

Can also be used in reference to any competitive gaming systems. (Gameboy vs. GameGear; Playstation vs. Saturn vs. N64; Dreamcast vs. PS2 vs. Xbox vs. Gamecube; PS3 vs. X-Box 360 vs. Wii)
The console war ended with neither side victorious.

Gamer 1: I think the Genesis is better since it has the original Phantasy Star series, whereas the SuperNES had the Final Fantasy series
Gamer 2: I think the exact opposite!

Gamer 1: The SuperNES is best because it's GRAY!
Gamer 2: No way, the Genesis is better because it's BLACK!
6. Civil War
1) a war in which parties within the same culture, society or nationality fight against each other for the control of political power.

2) a song by guns n roses.

3) a slang term used to describe a food fight within one table at lunch or any other public place in which food is eaten.
EXAMPLES 3) Bill: Hey, don't be starting a civil war here!
Joe: We haven't had one in a long time.

1) Chris: Who won the Civil War?
John: I don't know, dude. Ask someone else.
7. war on terror
War On Terror: A futile war on an abstract term. Is in fact a oxymoron as surely war is a form of terror? Is completely self defeating as bombing people, invading their countries and taking their oil is a hardly a method for making people love the west and renounce violence. violence begets violence, an eye for an eye and the whole world is blind. If Iraq is revenge however, it is wayy out of proportion- 200,000 civilians dead for the 3000 dead on 9/11. And none of the terrorists were iraqi.
war on drugs- supply and demand, people want high, they get high. no stopping it. Equally pointless as war on terror.
