They use words like innit, buff and will without a doubt love From first to last. NO not because of they're music. Because of Sonny moore.

They add Xcore to all their words.
And often use the terms,
kthnxbye.


OH AND! you can't forget the crazy assed angeled pictures, plastered all over myspace.

Scenesters like things ranging from polka dots, to robots and dinosaurs, to beads and hair bows.

Most of them are pretentious little cunts.

Conformity by some teenagers to what is "cool".

Basic characteristics of male "scene" kids are:
-Choppy, messy hair, usually dyed black or in strange colors.
-Tight girl pants.
-Lots and lots of hoodies.
-Band shirts.
-Chucks or any other tight, generic shoe.
-Stud belts and/or bracelets.
-Anything that can be used to make them look more like girls.
-Spend 2 or more hours a day on their hair.

Basic characteristics of female "scene" kids are:
-Choppy, messy hair, usually dyed black or in strange colors.
-Tight guy pants OR (Rarely, girl pants).
-Lots and lots of hoodies.
-Band shirs.
-Chucks or any other tight, generic shoe.
-Stud belts and/or bracelets.
-Anything that can be used to make them look more like guys.
-Spends no time on their hair, period.

Most "scene" kids also wear ugly, black, nerdy glasses, often very Weezer-esque. They don't listen to a particular type of band. "Scene" kids hear one song from a band, and if it's a popular song, they say they love the band even though they've only heard one song. They're characterized by complaining about how bad their life is, writing horrible poetry, and skulking in dark areas. They also often use the phrase "Xcore" with prefixes such as "scene", "emo", and "hard".

To sum it up, "scene" kids are basically just a bunch of conformists who look exactly the same because they all dress the same and act the same.

I don't actually know of any scene kids that talk like 'yEw aRe lyKE s0 hAwt <3XXX' as some examples have shown. From my experience of knowing/seeing scene kids (London is overpopulated with them), here are some basic How To Be A Scene Kid guidelines that you must follow in order to be defined as 'Scene':

THE CLOTHES/FOOTWEAR
1. Wear black drainpipe jeans (guys or girls) the lower slung the better
2. Ensure they show off your hipbones and the waistband of your boxers/girlboxers
3. Team your drainpipes with cutesey 'Punkrose' shoes or ballet shoes/converse/pink and black chequered vans (for girls) and Nike Dunks/chequered Vans slip ons/converse (for guys)
4. Wear youth/medium band t shirts (guys and girls) remember, the tighter the better!
5. Alternatively, girls may choose to wear short denim skirts over cut off black leggins with ballet shoes/converse
6. Ladies, team your kiddie tee with a long string of white pearls
7. Guys may choose to wear a bandana (or two?) either around their neck (or covering their mouth for a myspace

so scene girls........god, where to start? I guess hair, because hair is probably the most identifiable part of a good scene kid, as long as they have scene hair. a lot of younger scene kids prefer to skip the hair, or atleast downgrade it, because a lot of schools see it as a dress code violation, or their parents might not let them. but I'm getting off the point. scene hair follows a few basic principles:
1} the cut. scene hair is usually choppy, sometimes even mullet-esque, but that's not always fashion-friendly. basically there are two main scene cuts: longish and shortish. short hair is usually a little longer than chin length in the front, with bangs that run straight across, usually just below the brow. the front pieces are typically longest, and angled upward to the back. on the back of their head it's usually cut in super-choppy layers that they use to gel in different directions. the longish cut usually has heavy side bangs, and a choppy cut all around. there's really no part that's particularly longer than the other parts. it's just all messy. sometimes they'll have grown out the very bottom layer, or put in super-long extentions on the bottom. hair is always straightened. no ifs ands or buts. always.
