Talented musician, singer and songwriter. Child of folk singers Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III. Music is often eclectic in styles ranging from simple guitar to bombastic, operatic songs. Up and coming gay icon. Someone asked me who was the man in the faerie wings and thong singing about an old whore's diet. I told them it was Rufus Wainwright.

A word used in south east london by up and coming rap artists such as Alex Hurricane Heard and Halim The Killa Rhouila. From the jihadi terror sqaud. It means how much money you have or is an amount of money which is changed by the word preceeding it. Halim: Are you coming out man?
Alex: Fuck no manz be low on pounditure for fuck sake. Halim: Yerr can't wait till we rapping and the real pounditure begins to roll in. |

An awesome, up and coming blues/rock band, that is of Oshkosh, Wiscosin, that is unbelievably underrated, and doesnt get the recognition that they deserve. Headed by Scotty Meyer, who is an excellent soloist(guitarist), as well as singer. He writes and plays all the songs. He has some very catchy tunes, as well as some that are more obscure, that I love. His "forte"is blues and blues soloing, but he does a great job in his rock soloing. He plays in his own band, doing his originals, as well as playing in other bands, with talented musicians doing covers of popular songs.
I believe that someday he'll make it big, and he'll be a big name. I can say that I have had the privilage to play guitar with him. Hey, did you see Scotty play last week? He was kicking ass in that solo to "Prison City Blooze".
Did you pick up Scotty's CD, "Pay The Price?"... If not, pick it man, you'll love it. Check out the site on him, http://www.scottymeyerband.com/ |

I'm not saying the best ever as some people who only know a little about rap would say. But 2pac was an alltime great who was very influential and contributed a lot of hard work with strong emotion. Ever since the digital underground days his rhymes had a lot of character in them and he stood out more than shock g and money b. His rap style is very poetical and he covers a lot of emotions of a troubled lifestyle. I believe he was better at the time of 'me against the world', but was still ok on deathrow, some might not agree, but I feel deathrow fueled his style more into 'gangsta without a cause' than his political and real heartfelt style that was a better influence to our troubled societies we live in. And as a result, the 'thug life' image deathrow helped to escalate even further, was also his downfall. It was a sad day back in sept 96 when I heard he had passed away. I just thought, damn what a loss!. And sadly even pac knew his day was coming soon because of his life situation at the time. The good thing is, while he was in prison he got to write a lot of rhymes and also just before and after he was out he was known to just write lyrics in a short time not a lot of others could match. Theres a few 100 songs he still has and will be released in time. Lets just hope that whiteboy eminem doesn't try and produce anymore of them to appeal to the others(if you know what i mean!). 2pac was a role model for our struggling youth in the heart of the citys, and i don't mean the... more...

| 62. | Antic Art | ||
|
A term defining art created using surreal cartoon images.
an·tic(s) (n. A ludicrous or extravagant act or gesture; a caper) adj. Ludicrously odd; fantastic.) art (n. Human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature. When you hear the word Antics, perhaps it might bring to mind the actions of a cartoon character. This association goes well with the nature of this style of art. A cartoon character's actions are typically comprised of both the bold and the outlandish. Likewise are the images of this art style. An art that boasts a sort of dream like cartoon extravaganza, birthed from surrealism and fathered by pop. The true origin of this art is a mass conglomeration of the surreal, the pop and the mass media both vintage and current. Some famous and up and coming artists of this genre would include
Jim Woodring, Shag and Voodoo Velvet to name a few. |

A clothing store. PERIOD! It is nothing more, I do not wear Abercrombie but I want to point out that this argument is utterly ridiculous. You all have turned urban dictionary into a forum. If you don’t like Abercrombie there is no reason to hate people who wear it. For everyone who is against it because it is a sign of conformity and you wish to be outside the crowd, I have news for you, you have opted to join another crowd, and I assure you that the teens who wear this logo, except for " prissy rich girls " (hey, everyone has their qualms), have nothing against you. I know many "rich" kids who opt not to wear this brand. If you think that you are the bigger person, because you can think freely and not buy this brand, keep in mind that by ridiculing people who choose to wear the Abercrombie logo you are thus proving your ignorance to everybody who reads your post. Not to mention you are going against your free thinking beliefs because you know that 5 minutes before you posted this your and your free thinking buddies were just repeating stereotypes about Abercrombie wearers that you picked up from some schmuck you met last week in the basement of a local church while listening to the new up and coming trendy emo band. Instead of telling all of us how bad you think you have it why don’t you wipe the shit out of your eyes and take a look at the flyers posted in the basement of the church that you just heard your favorite local band play and get off your ass and do something, ... more...
