One of the most popular television series in the last 30 years. M*A*S*H documented life and death at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in South Korea during the Korean War in early 1950s. The show ran an unprecedented 11 seasons from 1972-1983 and won several Emmy awards.

Original cast (for Seasons 1-3) included: Alan Alda as Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce, Wayne Rogers as "Trapper" John McIntyre, McLean Stevenson as Lt. Col. Henry Blake, Gary Burghoff as Corporal. Walter "Radar" O'Reilly, Loretta Swit as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, Larry Linville as Major Frank Burns, William Christopher as Father Mulcahy, and Jamie Farr as Corporal Maxwell Klinger.

In 1975 (end of Season 3), McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers left the show (their characters written out) and were replaced by Mike Farrel who played B.J. Hunnicutt and Harry Morgan who played Col. Sherman Potter. Larry Linville left in 1977 (end of Season 5) and was replaced by David Ogden Stiers who played Charles Emerson Winchester III. Gary Burghoff left in 1979 during Season 7 but re-appeared for one last episode in Season 8 before being effectively written out.

In 1983 the series finale of M*A*S*H called "Goodbye, Farewell, Amen" aired and it became the most watched TV episode in history.

After the show ended, producers came up with the idea of life after M*A*S*H and proposed it to the remaining members of the cast who wanted the show to continue. "After M*A*S*H" ran from 1983-1984...

An American slang term for outside consultants who are brought into a business to troubleshoot and solve problems. The term comes from the 1968 book M*A*S*H by Richard Hooker. In the book, the character Hawkeye is described as using the guise of being the pro from Dover to obtain free entrance to golf courses:

"Hawkeye would walk confidently into a pro shop, smile, comment upon the nice condition of the course, explain that he was just passing through and that he was Joe, Dave or Jack Somebody, the pro from Dover. This resulted, about eight times out of ten, in an invitation to play for free. If forced into conversation, he became the pro from Dover, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, England, Ohio, Delaware, Tennessee, or Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, whichever seemed safest."

Later on in the book, when Hawkeye and fellow surgeon Trapper are called from Korea to Tokyo to perform surgery on a congressman's son, the following exchange takes place:

"'All right,' Trapper said. 'Somebody trot out the latest pictures of this kid with the shell fragment in his chest.'
No one moved.
'Snap it up!' yelled Hawkeye. 'We're the pros from Dover, and the last pictures we saw must be forty-eight hours old by now.'"

-No mayonaisse on the chicken sandwich.
-Opting to remove the lower bun prior to inserting the McChicken.
-If you are not currently a pussy, you may wish to use the double quarter pounder sandwich as the meat is delectable.
-Some may not wish lettuce upon their sandwich.
-Barbeque sauce may be used in desperate situations.
-Squashing the completed sandwich may make it easier to eat for those with unfortunately small mouths.
-Placing french fries in between the patties prior to McChicken insertion.
-Placing french fries in between the patties after the McChicken is placed firmly in the sandwich.
-Not placing french fries in between the patties at all, instead eating them on the side.
-Also you may not order french fries at all, for a McDank is a formidable meal even without french fried potatoes.
