A tool is many things it can be used to build stuff.
It can be a person who says the wrong shit. It can be an anonym for cool. The most common explanation is that it's referred to a poser. However most of the labelers of this word commonly have a spec in their eye when they label tools. Most people throw the term around so much without realizing that they're an idiot. Conicedently, another defination for tool is someone who doesn't realize they're an idiot. Which means, that most people who use the word tool are tools themselves. Proabably most people (not me) who post on this site about the urban defination of the word tool are coincidently tools. (Sees a guy wearing a shirt with a message) Hey why the fuck are you wearing that shirt you fucking tool! Poser!(Doesn't realize that the shirt is portraying a completely different message).

A person, typically male, who says or does things that cause you to give them a 'what-are-you-even-doing-here' look. The 'what-are-you-even-doing-here' look is classified by a glare in the tool's direction and is usually accompanied by muttering of how big of a tool they are. The tool is usually someone who is unwelcome but no one has the balls to tell them to get lost. The tool is alwasys making comments that are out-of-place, out-of-line or just plain stupid. The tool is always trying too hard to fit in, and because of this, never will. However, the tool is useful because you can use them for things; money, rides, ect. "Let's drive to Chicago from Iowa. Oh man, we need money. Hey, let's ask tool to come, he'll spot us the cash!"

Avril Lavigne. Jane is a tool because she dresses like Avril Lavigne while listening to New Found Glory and Dashboard Confessional just becuase Carson Daly told her to.

Best band of all time with Adam Jones on guitar, Danny Carey on drums, Paul D'Amour once on bass but now its Justin Chancellor, and last but certainly not least the vocals and the style that is Maynard James Keenan. Progressive rock band from the early 90's, introduced a lot of new things in music, including throwing time signatures out the window. Albums out:
