A swift, concise, piercing and high pitch "ahh", usually lasting only milliseconds, but the USN can be strung out to last a few seconds. Sneaking into a flat mates room when he/she hasn't realised, getting as close to them as possible, and delivering a Universal Scare Noise (USN) to give them a fright.

| 38. | Wall Cancer | ||
|
Wall cancer is a widely used facebook term used to describe members of groups with an uncanny ability to scare other members off group(s) simply by posting the most uninteresting and boring shite imaginable. It is also used to describe wall posts on fb groups. In many cases group members have even been known to leave groups due to copious amounts of garbage being posted by dolts with no sense of humour or purpose other than to amuse themselves. Facebook Group Wall:
Higz: It's been quiet here today, where did everyone go? Vanessa: Thomas turned up on group last night and posted a photo of a woman with grape hair and soon after everyone said goodnight and left. Some members even mentioned they would be leaving group permanently. Higz: Great! didn't he post that dumb photo on group last week? Vanessa: Yep, it was the same one. I think we should toss Thomas off the group, the guy is a wall cancer, and has actually managed to scare off a third of our members Higz: Give him the boot, V |

| 40. | vast right wing conspiracy | ||
|
Vast right wing conspiracy is a term first used by Hillary Clinton to describe the opposition movement, and their bullshit, during her husband Bill Clinton's presidency. This was a REAL problem. David Brock provides a look inside and confesses to being a part of it in his book "Blinded by the Right." There were many people opposed to Clinton's progressive ideas and the right-wing segment of the population was trying hard to disrupt his agenda. (see White Water, travelgate, Monica Lewinsky, American Spectator) Luckily for Clinton, and America as a whole, he was able to accomplish many good things, like balancing the budget for the first time in 30 years! Many people think that the conspiracy was just about the Clintons, but other democrats have faced it too. Some examples: John Kerry 2004 swift boat veterans for truth, the Obama birther bullshit, the death panels bullshit and all this Obama is socialist bullshit! The vast right wing conspiracy is alive and well during the Obama Administration. The G.O.P. is still spreading bullshit lies about where Obama was born, spreading lies to scare people away from Health Care reform, and trying to kill anything they consider "progressive."

| 42. | Jump Scare | ||
|
A tactic used in horror movies to scare people, the jump scare is used by unimaginative filmmakers as a cheap method of frightening the audience; i.e, making them literally "jump" out of their seats. This device is being increasingly employed in modern horror movies, along with gratuitous amounts of gore, because the directors have forgotten how to actually scare people. A scantily clad, bosomy teenager who hears a suspicious noise in her empty house on a rainy night while watching a movie gets up from the couch to investigate its source. Walking slowly, she calls out, "Is anybody there?" As she nears the kitchen, a black cat streaks across the hallway, accompanied by a loud, piercing measure of orchestral music. "Oh, whiskers, you silly cat, you scared me!" she says, breathing a sigh of relief. She turns around, anxious to get back to her movie, when an axe suddenly buries itself in her skull.
Most of the audience screams in fright. However, the veteran horror movie fans in the theater have seen way too many cheap uses of the jump scare to be fooled. They shake their heads and think about the good old days when movies like The Shining were actually able to genuinely scare them. |
