The word means 'think police'. Any other definition is plain stupid. The concept comes from 1984, a book by George Orwell written to illustrate totalitarianism so extreme that even your thoughts are controlled.
The actual word isn't in 1984 but it derives from 'Interpol', the international police organisation. Also a band from a UK, but that doesn't matter. A: "I had a really good time at that concentration camp."
B: "Really? So George was lying about it being deadly and dismal." A: "That's why the thinkpol have sent him back there." |
