A 3-D fighting game developed by NAMCO, the people who brought you Pac Man and Soul Calibur. The controls are right kick, left kick, right punch, and left punch (press nothing to block;it's weird but makes some people's lives easier). It is one of the top fighting games (it's been repeated hundreds of times, but no one really pays attention) out there, but the people who say Tekken's gay are just jealous lil otaku since their ecchi game Dead or Alive is in the bottom pit with other crappy fighting games or the fact the person sucked at playing it.
Over the years, Tekken developed from just another 3-D game into a fun, original fighting game. If a fighting piece of wood or a usable character that shoots lasers isn't original, then what is?
Don't worry, the plot of Tekken isn't really that complicated. It's just a big tournament called King of the Iron Fist made by the Mishimas, that brings the top fighters together to earn the title of the best fighter or win the Tekken Zaibatsu.
There's a varitey of characters to choose from, which makes this game fun and entertaining. The Tekken fandom might not be as big, but many people have enjoyed playing it.
If you never played a 3-D fighting game before, I recommend you to try this game out. It's a game the whole family can enjoy! :)
I wanna play Tekken 5 again!

Dude, you play Tekken also?

Tekken's tite! You gotta try it out!

Hey, who's your favorite Tekken character?

The deepest street fighter clone ever made. About as deep as a drop of water on a hot pan. Anyone's mom can play and beat it within an hour.
I can beat any Tekken game at "Hard" setting by hitting the control pad repeatedly with my toes.

A fighting game by Namco.

The game has a good storyline but after Tekken Tag Tounerment gameplay has seemed to of slowed down alot.

The games major combo moves are far easier to master compared to previous Tekken games.

The only other close clone to Tekken is Virtua Fighter which was made before any other Tekken game.

Doesn't matter if a game is a clone or not. It only matters if it is a cheap clone.

Me personally I prefer Street Fighter which proves 2d graphics has nothing to do with gameplay and has a good storyline.

And I also like Super Smash Bros. Melee...

Actually not a bad game, but still rather easy to beat. Got some cool characters (True Ogre, Hwoarang etc.) 2-player is better than Arcade mode.

Not the greatest fighting game ever.
Tekken 4 is crap (few characters, slow-movement, just Tekken 3 with different costumes and 2 or 3 new characters), Tekken Tag Tournament is the best Tekken.

A crappy fighting game made by NAMCO, the same company which made Pacman.
A cheap knockoff of SEGA's Virtua Fighter, except that it also borrows poorly from CAPCOM's Street Fighter. Favored by button-mashers who can't play videogames because of its cheap combo system, one-hit knockouts, and lack of physics.
I played Tekken Jag Tournament on the Playstation 2.

VIrtua Fighter is and has always been a far superior game. Tekken is just an overhyped, shallow piece of shit with pretty lights.
Americans prefer Tekken over Virtua Fighter because they're too fucking lazy and stupid to learn how to play a game. They think that mashing buttons and watching sparks equals a good game.
