the word tavern originates from the surf spot McCauleys, located in the Illawarra NSW Aus. Created by a local bodyboarder, which was originally used to describe a wave (usually a large hollow slab type). The word then was slowly transformed into a adjective, expressing various things such as surf tricks. That wave was fucking tavern!
