I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic

From an episode of Family Guy where Peter tries to "educate" himself on proper edicate and ends up picking up a New Yorker. Being Peter, he turns to the comic section of the New Yorker and find "I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic." And waits a few days trying to understand the meaning of it.
>"I would like a copy of the New Yorker Please"
>>"Okay"
>"I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic? What?"
>"Ohhh I get it, can I get a jugs?"
>> "Sure thing"

don’t sound so excited

When someone is obviously irritated or annoyed you can tell them ‘don’t sound so excited!’ Or maybe ‘don’t seem (or get/be) too (or so) excited!’ To piss them off or maybe make them laugh.

I feel like everyone on the internet has forgotten this phrase and I personally love it and use it all the time 🤓
Person 1: “ugh, seriously, we have to do the mile in gym today..”
Person 2: “don’t sound so excited!”

Person 1: “bruh.. my mom told me that her and my dad are getting a divorce ..”
Person 2: “don’t seem so excited!”

I can't so you can't

This is the garbage energy and motivation that those who cannot or will never be emotionally successful use to try to stop those who CAN from reaching their happiness and potential. Fuck these people. Losers. Miserable sods. Need I type anymore?
Mom: "Well, you know that you have other things to consider instead of helping yourself in this difficult transition."
Adult Child: "I'm feeling very happy and secure when I am with this completely adjusted and trusted person."
Mom: "Here it is! Plain and simple. I can't so you can't."
Adult Child: "You miserable cow! Resentful is just the tip of the shitberg! Just stop talking."

Common sense isn't so common

(phrase / life observation / savage truth)

A brutally honest way to say that just because something seems obvious, most people will still find a way to mess it up. Perfect for moments when humanity disappoints you, usually in public or online.

Used when:

Someone does something completely avoidable or facepalm-worthy.

You realize society collectively skipped the “how to adult” manual.

You want to sound smart while judging idiots.

Meaning: Humans often act in ways that defy logic, and that’s on them.

Synonyms: “Apparently, this is optional,” “Logic is rare,” “Humanity, why?”
Examples of contexts in which common sense isn't so common:

Coworker: “I put metal in the microwave.”
You: “Common sense isn’t so common.”

Friend: “I just walked into traffic because I was texting.”
You: “Common sense isn’t so common.”

Internet comment section: literally anything ever.

A Phrase that triggers the firey rage of a Tom Holland supporter and often results in a slap, punch, or an insult to your mum
