Synthetic clapping is the sound of clapping hands made by a synthesizer or through a software program like Synth-Werk rather than being made by a person clapping his or her own hands.

I can't stand the sound of real clapping in music, but synthetic clapping is fine with me.

The sound of a katydid (a cricket-like insect) created either via computer software or synthesizer hardware. Found in some types of Hi-NRG music.

I listened to a song by some Hi-NRG group a few days ago that had synthetic katydids in it.

No actual birds are harmed when synthetic birds are used.

The sound of bells being rung, only this time done completely by synthesis -- be it computer hardware or software synthesis. No actual bells are being harmed.

The demo called, äMPäri3" by the Commodore Amiga computer demo group Dekadence has synthetic bells in its zax -- how kewl!!!
