Persons originating from the Indian Subcontinent or certain countries of South Asia (i.e. India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Maldives or Bhutan) "Sub-conti" is closely related to, but not synonymous with, "desi". Desi tends to be a narrower descriptor of persons of Indian or Pakistani heritage. All of my FOB sub-conti friends seem to like to substitute "just" with "only" in sentences. They'll say stuff like, "I was going down the road, only".
