A person who, acting alone and without gang affiliation, forcibly ejects crips, bloods, pachuco boys, and other predatory criminals and terrorists from public places. He removes one or more greasy slimes at a time, either temporarily or permenantly. He works freelance, and is not a fuzz, a cop, or other deputized hireling. Bumkicker Slade was, in his younger days, an infamous Oakland street sweeper. The local homies warned each other about him, saying "Ooooo weeee, watch out fo dat white boy. He be crazy!" A cool shotgun was named after him because it was almost as effective.

(1) A 12-round revolver style shotgun originally designed in S. Africa. A weapon of destruction. (2) Any number of shotguns converted to 10+ round capacity. Let's see how this bulletproof glass stands up to my street sweeper.

Slang for a type of shotgun that is drum fed, consequently ammo capacity is a bit larger that any other shotgun. Street sweepers (in pertinence to firearms) are NOT submachine pistols or any other non-shotgun type firearm.

Contrary to popular belief, a "street-sweeper" is not just a large-capacity compact shotgun; the term also includes most automatic compact firearms as well (Ex: Uzi, MAC-10, Ak-47, etc). The term "street-sweeper" was given to these weapons because they are capable of spraying an alley or narrow street in one "sweep" (usually without even releasing the trigger or changing clips). "...and if it's major,
hit me on my pager, I'll load up the creeper, and pop a clip into this Street Sweeper!" --Squab |

Yeah, an automatic weapon that can take out everyone on the block, but the term is also used to describe a slammed car.
Horsepower, brand, and condition is irrelevant. From bombs to buckets, VIP'd out shit to lowlows. It can be rotted out and covered in character, or dripping with flake, chrome, and candy treats, but your ride ain't shit 'til it's sweepin' the streets. "You see that slammed-ass Chevy throw sparks out of the parking lot?"
"Shit yeah! That thing was CRUSHED! straight up Street Sweeper." |

Guys who have to exit a bar at closing time into the street in search of girls not yet taken due to their failures all night long. David got shot down so many times last night that his only chance for some action was to be a street sweeper.

A heavily raked muscle car. A sleeper street rod. A large body (B Body) "boat" muscle car with a low raked stance and the power to back it up. Front end dropped low like it could sweep the street. Street legal car that is purposed to mean business. Bob: "Have you seen my grandpas all original 65 Dodge?"
Jim: "Man if I had that thing I would drop the front. Strip the chrome. Paint it Black.... and throw a 440 in it." Bob: "Dude, if he knew you turned his baby into a street sweeper he would lose his last marbles!" |
