| 8. | Confederate | ||
|

The total number of Confederate soldiers who served during the War of Southern Aggression is not exact, but it said to be somewhere around 750,000 men. They were usually seen wearing four different kinds of uniforms: gray wool standard, butternut-brown dyed (uniforms captured from Union dead, and then converted), colorful French-styled "Zouave", and finally (and practically) little or no uniform. Over half of the Confederates and their respective government were too poor to afford full standard uniforms for even the majority of there soldiers, so they would wear regular civilian clothing mixed with various pieces of Confederate uniform (hats, trousers, etc.) along with their ammunition belts and other gear. These Southern soldiers were exceptionally brave and more well-trained with guns; a great number of their commanders, from regiments to corps, were very talented in military strategy and were far beyond competent. Many of the Southerners had colorful, dashing personalities and attitudes. They also knew the land of which th... |

| 9. | bush family | ||
|
A blue blooded family of East Coast aristocratic ilk who moved to Texas during an early 20th century oil rush. Thus bush family was able to increased wealth exponentially (on the backs of poor white & hispanic oil workers). NOT unlike Civil War Yankee CARPETBAGGERS, they took on regional mannerisms and affected southern drawls in order to assimilate and pass for Texans. The bush family strategy has been DYNASTICALLY successful (not to mention even producing TWO US Presidents to date). If the truth be known, they aint nothing but a bunch of phony, bush family carpetbaggin' yankees!

| 10. | french military victories | ||
|
Note: The following list of French military victories is necessarily incomplete. It also includes actions in which only French peoples participated or in which they participated decisively (the Crimean War, for example, will be listed here as a French military victory because France supplied 400,000 of the 660,000 Western troops and French troops carried out the important attacks at Malakoff; the other Western participants were Britain and Sardinia. A conflict like World War II, on the other hand, will not be listed as a French military victory because France was not decisive in bringing about the victory, even though France was a winner in the end).

If starting from the Gauls.... -Battle of the Allia (387 BCE): A Gallic force under Brennus destroys a Roman army and sacks Rome itself, leading to the destruction of all prior Roman historical records. -Siege of Gergovia (52 BCE): Vercingetorix hands Caesar the worst defeat of his career. (note: the Franks fall under both French and German military history since they laid the political foundations for both countries) -Battle of Soissons (486): The Franks under Clovis I defeat the last Roman army in Gaul. -Battle of Tolbiac (496): The Franks under Clovis I defeat the Alamanni tribe. -Battle of Vouillé (507): The Franks under Clovis I defeat the Visigoths under Alaric II, the conqueror of Spain. As a result of these victories, the domains of Clovis quadruple. -Battle of Toulouse (721): The Aquita... |

| 11. | Yankee | ||
|
An American from any of the Northern states that stayed in the Union at the time of the Civil War. This would include, but not be limited to, people in the New England states descending from the original English settlers.

Even though there is a wide variety of personality and character types in the Northern United States as there are everywhere, there are certain stereotypical features of many Northerners. These qualities include a straight-forwardness that can easily develop into what Southerners perceive as abrasive and rude; a certain concern with macro moral issues that give them a self-righteous, arrogant quality; a lack of immediate friendliness with strangers--cold, standoffish, detached; a lack of style, panache; a bone-headed lack of concern with manners and gentility. Their speech tends to be flat and forceful sounding as though they are barking out orders. Yankees won the Civil War only by using terrorist tactics and human wave attacks. This strategy exploited Northern advantages in sheer numbers of men and supplies. In more recent times, a large influx of Yankees into the Southeast and Southwest has dissipated the influence of native Southerners in places such as Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Houston, and Atlanta, destroying what is unique about the South |

Feminism is the radical notion that men are not people. Feminism dehumanizes men for political gain. Here are some examples from leading feminists in their own words:

"Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometimes gain from the experience." Catherine Comin, Vassar College. Assistant Dean of Students. "Probably the only place where a man can feel really secure is in a maximum security prison, except for the imminent threat of release." Germaine Greer. "All men are rapists and that's all they are." Marilyn French, Author; (later, advisor to Al Gore's Presidential Campaign.) "And if the professional rapist is to be separated from the average dominant heterosexual (male), it may be mainly a quantitative difference." Susan Griffin, Rape: The All-American Crime. "All men are good for is fucking, and running over with a truck". Statement made by A University of Maine Feminist Administrator, quoted by Richard Dinsmore, who brought a successful civil suit against the University in the amount of $600,000. Richard had protested the quote; was dismissed thereafter on the grounds of harassment; and responded by bringing suit against the University. 1995 settlement. | 13. | Kenjutsu | ||
|
A master swordsman must size up his opponent. No two swordsmen fight the same. Ito Ittosai, a great Japanese swordsman was reckless in his style. “Learn by being cut” was his philosophy. He believed one should be concerned more with not losing rather than winning. Proper timing is a key element of this concept. In his book Go Rin No Sho (A Book of Five Rings), Miyamoto Musashi, remarked that his entire strategy was based on timing and rhythm. Musashi was the founder of the Nito or two sword method of fighting in Japan. It is believed that he learned the rapier and dagger techniques of the Europeans from traders in Southern Japan and used these techniques to develop his own style. In traditional martial arts, no other weapon has held the status of the sword. It is the center of training for the majority of the arts. Kenjutsu may be studied as a separate art or as a subordinate art of another major system. At the Red Dragon Ju Jitsu Dojo, the basics of Kenjutsu are required for advancement to the rank of Blue Belt. It is also taught as a stand-alone art. In terms of skills, few weapons require the demands of swordsmanship. The sword moves much faster than the fastest person, the skill in timing and judgement will benefit the Martial Artist in all other aspects of their training. Kenjutsu should not be considered the same as Kendo. Kendo is a sport form of swordsmanship and an offspring of Ken-Jutsu. In Kendo, the targets are restricted to the head, wrist, body plate, and throat. In Ken-Jutsu, any target is fair game. The study of Kenjitsu has no belting system. It is a pure study of the art and mastery is developed through practice. Students must learn the basic stances along with the basic attacks and defenses. Mastery is derived from actual combat or Kumite using a wooden Bokken (Bokuto). After the student has been properly instructed in the techniques of combat and practices of various timing drills they are pitted against other students under the direct supervision of the Sensei who referees the match. The study of Ken-jutsu is more than merely wielding a sword. One not only learns the Kihon Dachi (basic stances) and attacks with defenses, there is much more to the study of the art of the Samurai. Any butcher can swing a sword but to be a master you must develop the mental and spiritual aspects of the art as well as the physical. Shin-Ku-I (Body, Mouth, Mind) or more accurately Action, Word, and Thought is how the Samurai were evaluated. What makes the difference between a swordsman and a master is Ken Shin Ichi Nyo, or Sword and mind as one. One must train as if the sword was a part of them, if it is looked at as a separate entity you will never develop the skill to master the art.

| 14. | Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim | ||
|
The current name of the MLB team, the Angels, located in Anaheim, California. What many don't seem to realize is that the Angels were originally the "Los Angeles Angels" when they formed in 1961, as they played in Los Angeles. Since their move in 1967 to their new home in Anaheim, the Angels have undergone many name changes, from the "California Angels" (1965-1996) to the "Anaheim Angels" (1997-2004) and now the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (2005-present). The revert to the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" was a marketing strategy by new club owner Arte Moreno, who changed the team name back to their original identity, in effort to advertise the team to all of Southern California. His marketing strategy has worked, as the value of the team has nearly quintupled since he purchased it. Furthermore, he has worked out a major syndication deal with Fox Sports that has allowed him to support one of the largest payrolls in all of baseball. Most fans have long-since adapted to the new name, and most of the trashtalk lingering is coming from the Dodgers fans envious of their superior cross-town rivals, while they are forced to sit in squalor in a sespit that houses their team. They joke about the Angels wishing they were in L.A, but neglect to admit that the Angels have a larger payroll, and more fans in attendance than any Dodger game - they also are too embarrassed to admit that the only famous athelete on their team is the owner, Magic Johnson. more...
