Being alone without any regrets, sadness, or depression. Not to be confused with "loneliness," where you are by yourself but long for the companionship of others.

To be purposely seperated from other people.

"When seeking the wisdom and clarity of your own mind, silence is a helpful tool. The voice of our spirit is gentle and cannot be heard when it has to compete with others. Just as it is impossible to see your reflection in troubled water, so too is it with the soul. In silence, we can sense eternity sleeping inside us."

-Ethan Hawke
He devoted himself to solitude, prayer and the service of the poor, and before long went on a pilgrimage to Rome.

Solitaire Loop

When one starts playing computer solitaire (or any variation played on the computer) and is unable to stop playing until they have won. Most frustrating when you cannot win. Also equally frustrating when you have won and you want to win more causing a continuous cycle or loop.

Johnny: I can't come down yet, I'm stuck in a solitaire loop!

Person 1: Hey how come you aren't responding to my message?
Person 2: Sorry I'm stuck in a solitaire loop.

solitaire denial

Flipping through the deck over and over while playing the card game Solitaire even though there are no more moves available, denying that you have lost even though you already know it.
Guy #1: Dude, you've gone through the deck 3 times already. Give it up, you've lost.
Guy #2: ...So I have. I'm in solitaire denial again.
