Pop-up Overhead Detonator
A hidden antipersonnel device designed to spring 14 feet when its proximity sensor registers movement within 20 feet of its position. At the apex of its trajectory, it will detonate, showering an area of approximately 120 metres square with flechettes designed to penetrate soft targets such as unarmoured vehicles and personnel. "Those POD deployed out there should keep those pesky guerrilla raiders away for at least tonight."

| 2. | terrorism | ||
|
Terrorism is unlawful use of violence or the threat of violence to attain goals that are religious, political, ideological, economic, etc. in nature to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of said goals. One of the more obvious recent examples of this are the 9-11 atrocities. Another is the US-Contra war on Nicaragua. After the ICJ condemned the US for the "unlawful use of force", US Southern Command gave the contras (mostly former members of the Somoza regime) the first official orders to attack what they called "soft targets" (read undefended civilian targets). That's a textbook example of international terrorism. Even before the ICJ ruling, the contras were attacking civilians. The Contras were fighting to reverse the popular sandinista revolution. This is an example of the unlawful use of violence to attain goals that are political and ideological. Saddam Hussein's invasion is an example of international terrorism. CLinton's bombing of a Sudanese pharmaceutical plant is another. And we can go down the list. The point is that the US govt, and most other govts around the world use terror to get what they want. Clearly, overwhelmingly, terrorism is the weapon of the strong.

| 3. | M82 Barret Light Fifty .50 | ||
|
A precision, semi-automatic rifle chambered in .50 BMG. .50 BMG, being the same caliber used in Browning anti-armor and anti-aircraft machine guns since World War I.
Primarily used for anti-armor or "anti-matierial" operations. Capable of stopping many small armored vehicles, it serves its purpose well. Its effective range is over a mile. Although impractical, it can be used as an anti-personnel weapon. For sniping "soft" targets, a lighter weapon like a 7.62mm rifle would be preferrable. There's an artillery emplacement on a ridge about a mile North of here. Someone get me an M82.

A Japanese knife or small sword, they are forged generally in hira-zukuri, meaning that they have no ridge-line, unlike the shinogi-zukuri shape of a katana. They were generally very thin and therefore would cut soft targets extremely well.
It is also the shortest of three similar swords, the wakizashi and the katana my tanto was made to stab you
