The Remington 870 is an American made pump (slide) action shotgun that is bottom loading and side ejecting, and has a tubular magazine and twin action bars. The 870 is Remington's 4th major shotgun design, and is hands down the most popular, being the best selling shotgun of all time. It was introduced in 1950 as the Wingmaster model. The design has not changed since it's introduction and it is still widely known for it's dependability and ruggedness, as well as being reasonably priced. It has served the U.S. military and law enforcement for many years, as well as being heavily used by hunters and clay pideon shooters.
The Wingmaster model comes with a polished blued finish and a glossy walnut stock. In 1996 the Express model was introduced. The Express is the same gun, with less cosmetics, coming with a matte black finish and a stained hardwook stock. The Marine model comes with electroless nickel plating and a synthetic stock and the police models feature a parkerized finish with either hardwood or sythetic stocks. The 870 is also offered in jr. sizes and a Classic Trap model. Your greatly designed Remington 870 shotgun will surely outlast you and be used by your children and your children's children.

| 3. | single action | ||
|
"Single action" means that the act of pulling the trigger only performs one function: releasing the hammer or striker, which strikes the firing pin or lever against the shell casing.
You'd have to cock the hammer of a revolver, or pull and cock the slide of a semiauto pistol for the trigger to function as single action. Guns which cock and fire with one pull of the trigger are called double action. "Who keep the fully-auto verses single action ideal?
Yeah, Hiero - oh they straight, culture merchants we kill" - Opio, Heiroglyphics, "Mind, Body and Soul" |

| 4. | double action | ||
|
"Double action" guns are much more common than single action - most semi-auto pistols are double-action, at least for the first shot.
That means that pulling back the slide on your semiauto pistol only chambers the round - it doesn't "cock back" the striker pin. Only when the trigger is pulled beyond "first stage" (halfway back) does the hammer/striker become cocked. After that first shot, all other shots from the gun (until it is decocked, safety is activated, or you cycle through the rest of your ammo) are "single action," since the blowback from the previous shot provides the force to re-cock the weapon. "My raps are double action, run the track from the back end" - Poppa Wu, "New Improved"

|
The Swivel Slide is a new revolutionary guitar slide. It stays on your hand while allowing you to still use all your fingers to play. Its unique Swivel action is controlled by the flick of your wrist. It's the only guitar slide that saves you from sacrificing a finger! The Swivel Slide saved my ass! I can now play amazing slide guitar without using a clunky old traditional slide AND it looks SO cool!
