The talented singer and songwriter of the St. Louis rock band Ludo. He has a very crazy personality, as shown through his songs and videos. It would also seem that he likes making igloos.
He and his band deserve more attention, for they truly are one of the best new(ish) bands I have heard lately. Andrew Volpe is cute too, in a glasses and huge goofy grin kind of way.

British rock star, writer and producer. Some rockmag critics slam his output as being too excessive, but he's more versatile than you might think. He's mostly noted as being the singer, guitarist, songwriter and de facto leader of the unique Electric Light Orchestra, which existed from around 1971 to 1988. They had a string of great hits, were one of the first bands to utilize synthesizers a lot (along with Pink Floyd and others), use a lot of backwards messages on their albums (they got a lot of flak over that by ignorant buttheads. Their 1983 album "Secret Messages" is a reply to that) and they were one of the first bands to use laser shows in their concerts (as well as a model starship). Jeff, an avowed Beatlemaniac got to produce the fine 1987 "Cloud Nine" album by George Harrison. Then he, George, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and To... more...

the day my hero
layne thomas staley died of an apparent overdose of heroin and cocaine as lead singer of the band Alice in Chains layne was a talented songwriter and had one of the greatest voices in all of rock. Staley's lyrics often dealt with his struggle against heroin (among other things) addiction as well as other personal troubles. Around 1994 his addictions were getting the best of him and his health was rapidly declining at a public apperaence shortly after the death of fellow seattle grunge rocker kurt cobain, layne looked green, thin and sickly. when on camera he hid his face with a ski mask. despite this layne returned to the studio to make another album, which turned out to contain some of the greatest lyrics layne has ever written. laynes body was found on april 19, 2002 he is my hero and he will be missed so much so many of the good die before their time i am naming my first born after layne
April 5th is one of the saddest days in rock history |

GBS or Gokh-Bi System (pronounced Go Bee) reunite rap with its ancient West African ancestors in a style dubbed “ancient meets urban”. Childhood friends from the Dakar, Senegal hood of Pikine Guinaw Rail—literally “the other side of the tracks”— Gokh-Bi System (pronounced Go Bee) reunite rap with its ancient West African ancestors in a style dubbed “ancient meets urban”. GBS was formed in 1993 by three childhood friends: Mamadou Ndiaye (Emcee), Diasse Pouye (Emcee), and Pape Bathie Pouye (Music Director/Manager). The three boys were transfixed by the conscious lyrics and powerful messages found in hip hop and began creating their own lyrics against the beat. They started out imitating what they heard on the cassettes, combining English, French, Arabic, and several other Senegalese dialects including Wolof (the official language of Senegal), Serer, and Jola into their own flow. Soon freestyle turned into original compositions and the boys from the other side of the tracks added Backa Niang (percussionist/vocals) and Sana Ndiaye (ekonting/vocals) and christened themselves Gokh-Bi System which means neighborhood system. A distinctive component of GBS's authentic sound is the ekonting played by Sana. The ekonting — once used to calm social unrest — and Gokh-Bi’s positive message, inspired by rap greats from The Last Poets to Chuck D, transform the group’s sound into an uplifting yet hard-hitting African homecoming for hip hop that sounds like The Roots hanging with Baaba Maal. Drummer Matt Garstka, bassist/keyboardist Joe Sallins and Guitarist Greg Garstka add modern instrumentation while an African dance... more...
