RE: the 2 million North Vietnamese Casualties included civilians.
more...
Not true. Around 4 MILLION civilians were killed as a result of the war. In response to the idea that there were many other countries involved other than south vietnam is preposterous. Vietnam is much like Iraq is today: a handful of soldiers from allied countries. The United States did not get its ass kicked The paris peace accords were signed and as a result the troops were taken withdrawn and american POWs were released. Nixon told the south vietnamese that he would send soldiers back in if the treaty was broken. However, Nixon was fighting for his political life due to the watergate scandal and along with his resignation went an ally to south vietnam. President Ford didn't give a shit about vietnam and the North vietnamese knew this. The weak North took control of the South and america shrugged. This wasn't because of an ass kicking, this was because america didn't think this was there war to fight and only did so because 'hawks' controlled the white house. |

| 5. | sudan | ||
|
The largest country in Africa. Sudan is rich with various ethnicities and religions. People like to say that the civil war in Sudan is caused by racism. It has nothing to do with races, you'll find different ethnicities on both sides of the war. It's just a movement against the current government. Sudan remains strong, and sudanese people remain proud. Don't send your troops to my country and "free" Sudan and turn it into another Iraq, you'll just make matters worse. Stay the fuck out :)

| 6. | marines | ||
|
Short-form name for ship-based infantry created by Henry VIII to kick the French's arse.
Royal Marine Commandos are the best equipped rapid-reaction shock/assault force on the planet - anyone who parachutes field artillery into place before the ground troops means business. Praised by the French Foriegn Legion (there's irony for you); Russian Spetznaz; the USMC (but never in public, looks bad in the papers). These dudes are the second-best infantry unit... If only they could find the best... George W. Bush: "Well, we need to open Iraq up for oil.. I mean, to secure worldwide democracy. Think I'll send the USMC in to clear the ground."
Tony "Poodle" Blair: "Don't worry, darling, I'll send the Royals in first, you know they love dying for no good reason. Now, please f*ck me up the a*se again? Please??" |

The Bosnian War Started shortly after March 1, 1992, when the Bosnian government held a referendum for independence. The Bosnian Croats and Bosnian muslims mostly voted in favour. Because of the recsent history of Yugoslavia the Serbs did not trust living in an independent Bosnia or Croatia from what happend in the second world war as 35% of Bosnia's population is Serbian. The Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic, announced the establishment of a seperate Bosnian Serb state which would include two-thirds of the territory of Bosnia & Hercegovina. After that Serbian gunman began to take control of the areas Karadzic said. By 1993 the fighting had intensifed and the Bosnian Serbs were assisted by the Serbian army. The Croatian army crossed to western Bosnia were a large proportion of Croat population lived. By now all three forces were fighting each other. In april 1992 the siege on the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo began. Serbian snipers and artillery fired into the city, where it was belived to be a muslim rebel stronghold in there.Each side took there own policy of ethnic cleansing and was practiced by each side. Croats, Serbs and muslims were forced from thier villages and homes which were eaither taken over or destroyed, Detention camps were also set up by each side. The Serbs said that more then 3,000 of thier people died in Croat and Muslim camps. The violence ... more...
