The emo subculture originated in the late 1980's-1990's. It started off meaning "Emotive" or "Emoticore" refering to a type of hardcore punk. The original emo bands were ones such as Rites of Spring (who claim their fans started the term emo), and Embrace.

During the late 1990's faded from it's place in the mainstream, but did exist. One of this time's signifigant emo conerstones was Weezers album "Pinkerton".

From 2000 on emo came back (harder than ever!). When emo came back, it's true meaning was somewhat lost and certain fasets of the true emo culture changed. "Emo" now is said to stand for "emotional" and many bands that emo people listen to are a very washed down, pop, sad version of punk. Such modern emo bands are Dashboard Confesional, and Further Seems Forever. With it's change of meaning modern emo's act very emotional. Often they show signs of depression, wearing black and having a very pessimistic view of the world.

A singer/actress that first began showing on disney on a short series called As the bell rings. But soon shortly left for a brand new movie featuring her and the Jonas brothers called Camp Rock. Demi soon began getting widely popular to the teen and younger audience and soon released her cd. Don't forget which some say seem to be her grabbing attention to tell the world that there's a brand new artist rising. but others just think it's a catchy way to get more fans. She is also to appear in a new series, new movies, and along side with her best friend Selena Gomez in her movie Wizards of Waverly place.

Demi is hate on being called an emo poser and wannabe for the way she dresses and acts. She's also found to be wearing logos of hardcore and metal bands when she doesn't listen to it herself and only considers them as a "fashion" or "trend". She doesn't know much only a couple of songs and the bands name says most people.
Lots of people think she is a poser since her previous wardrobe was more of pop and girly now changed to an all black and following to the "emo trends"
Others hate on her for stealing their "mans" nick and joe.

she was also found as a "cutter" but her manager seems to claim it was because of a gummy bracelet which some fans deny to be true since no pictures were found of her wearing one at the red carpet stated by her manager. some beleive it to be just a cover to "protect" her rising fame.

Someone who is quite unusual in both good and bad ways. He seems kind of mean at first but he does have a very nice side, you just have to get to know him.
