Schmeagling is most accurately described as when someone is so caught in their own way of thinking about a particular thing, that they shut out all outside opinions on the matter and firmly believe in their own delusions.
Sam has recently become obsessed with getting in shape and hitting the gym. He has bought 50 different supplements to take throughout the day to aid him. He is also going to the gym for 6-8 hours a day. Sam is schmeagling on the gym.

An excellent and classic example of schmeagling is Gollum and the ring of power from the legendary series Lord of the Rings. Gollum schmeagles on the ring for 500 years. In my opinion this is the BEST example of what schmeagling is.
