The coolest, most dark and mysterious group of kids in high school. Scene kids are totally unique because:

1.) Music. their musical tastes are totally deeper than yours. scene kids don't just listen to chiodos and underoath anymore, they now enjoy lil' wayne and girl talk!

2.) Haircuts. their haircuts are omg fab, held together by super strength hair wax, hair spray, or sometimes gel (all in mass amounts). the preferred styling method is to put a shitload of wax on the back of their head before bedtime, making it super messy and xcore (WARNING: this causes scenester-pillowcase syndrome). When they wake up for high school, they then apply massive amounts of product in the front to make it flat and pushed all in one direction. the great thing about scene haircuts: they're unisex!

3.) Hair Dye. along with the cool do's, scenesters also are totally individuals and non-conformists because of their hair dye patterns. in order to be truly scene, your hair must consist of 2 or more colors, one of them being a hue that doesn't occur in nature. Black is chosen by most as their naturally-occurring color, the other may be blue, bloodfrommywrists-red, green, or my personal favorite, purple (makes me think of grape jolly ranchers!)

4.) Piercings. emo/scene kids love 'em, mostly in places they'll regret when they are 25 and in the job market. Sorry xhatemylifex, but you'll never get hired with 3 nose piercings, 4 lip piercings, and an eyebrow ring. not even at starbucks.

5.) Cigarettes. Scene kids start once they find out they're scene. in getting started on the cancer sticks, they use the stereotypical "i'm cool for smoking" excuse to justify it to themselves. Many scene kids don't actually inhale their cigarettes, as they are in the 13-14 year old range and don't know how to properly smoke yet.

6.) Clothes. this is one of my fav's. the scenester wardrobe is as unisex as the haircut. t-shirts must be 2 sizes too small; the typical 5'8" 150 lb. male wears an XS tee (as to expose his midriff) of his favorite band, perhaps the rocket summer. pants must be GIRLS jeans (tight men's jeans are not acceptable) with key rings hanging from the beltloops, and rips and tears in the knee and thigh area. once again, pants must be 2 sizes too small, as to minimize mobility of the legs and maximize how much of their belly hangs over the waistline.

7.) Mannerisms. Scenesters usually don't allow for much fluctuation of the voice, as to not show any happy emotions they may have. Others: looking down, flipping their hair, adjusting their pants, checking myspace religiously, and putting an x before and after every word they use. it's the hardxcorex thing to xdo.

8.) Myspace. all the scenesters got 'em. All photos are self-taken from an awkward angle, as to show any cleavage they might have in junior high/high school, or to show that they're just plain good at aiming without looking at their digital camera's screen.

All in all, these factors make scenesters the most respected group of people in their high school.

NOTE: You can consider this a confession of a former-scenester. I'm guilty of all the above, except piercings/hair styles.

Though most of the content is true, let's be honest; most scene kids get to a point where they realize what they are doing is ridiculous. Those that don't just end up getting pointed and laughed at (rightfully so). If you're gonna do the scene style, why don't you just go all-out and cross dress?
1: Hey, did you see Connor's new scene wardrobe on myspace?

2: yeah, Connor is so scene; i love his lip ring and mudd jeans. my sister has the same jeans.

1: awesome! what kind of hair wax did he use for that cool do?

2: not too sure... (drags cigarette without inhaling)... what's his screen name again so i can tell him how sweet and ghetto his new gear is?

1: i think its xxbleedingmakesbloodxx, but it might be xwilldiexforyoux.

2: so scene...

A commonly hated-on subculture.

Scene kids favor tight pants, dinosaurs, and moshing.

bitchy girl: eww she's like so scene don't touch her! you'll get cooties!

normal person: uh... that's just how she wants to be. if she wants to mosh & yell "rawr" all the time, that's her choice.

bitchy girl: yeah... well... (denial).. fuck off!

nothing and everything is "scene". people who you may consider "scene" or "emo" say they're not. today if you wear smaller tops and jeans and a studded belt, WHATEVER music you listen to and WHOEVER your friends are people will call you "scene". myspace is typical "scene" even tho most people have it. people who choose to be straight edge are "scene". old skool nintendo is "scene"!! poetry is "scene". romance is "scene". peircings are "scene". "scene kids" i know like hiphop, dance, funk, punk, pop. are all these music genres "scene" I DONT THINK SO!!

the line is now soooo blurred ANY consivable thing is just dismissed as "scene".
people will say you cut yourself. people will say you cry. DO PEOPLE REALLY THINK THATS WHAT "SCENE KIDS" DO ????

fools.

The scene is the local music in the area, or the shows. For example if someone were to say : "DFjmsdof, the scene is DYING" what they mean is "There are never any good shows anymore.

The typical scene kid thrives on shows and dinosaurs. The girls and boys have choppy black hair with blonde streaks, or blonde hair with black streaks. The boys are hot. The girls are always 5'1 or below, ranging from skinny to chubby, and love to wear spandex, bows and headbands.

People who are not in the "scene" tend to think that scene kids are conceited and close-minded, but that is just a sterotype.
Stop being so hard on the scene. You all are biased and probably have never talked to one of these people in your life. If you had, you'd have realized that they are human like anyone else, and don't all fit under one catergorie.

Scene is a stereotype that most people have never heard of and usually have no idea they belong to. Many of the people who are 'scene' think that they act preppy or emo or whatever other labels they feel like sticking themselves with. Some 'scene' kids don't want a label and merge all sorts of different stereotypes together. According to these definitions, that is what scene is, isn't it? Some confused kids who are trying to be original but can't help but flow with the current and are unfairly punished with the 'horrid' label of being scene? Many of the scene kids are proud to be scene and follow the crowd on purpose. But many more of them were just swept away without being able to get a word in edgewise. So go ahead and wear your vintage tees with an overabundance of black eyeliner and your cheetah print Vans. One day you'll realize what your label is and all of us definers will feel like complete idiots when you get rich off of your super popular 'scene' clothing line. Show off your Sex dance moves at System of a Down concerts and listen to Relient K on your walkman on the way home from 'chillin wit ur DaWgZ' at the mall. Us original, hardcore, judgemental computer freaks will slap ourselves in the face when your highchool 'scene' band shoots off and you get a major record deal and can afford to smash your hot pink guitar over your boy/girlfriends head then be able to pay off the cops and get probation for six months, while the rest of us are rotting in prison for 25-to-life and our black 1980's guitars are lying in the same place at that last underground cavern we played at. But yea, no one be scene, 'cause it's bad. Very, very bad. And we will punish you. Pfft.

scene
Scene kids are often confused with those belonging to the emo kid culture.
Which they pretty much are, except for a few key factors.
First off, A scene GIRL's clothing:
Headbands
Bold Prints
Dyed hair
Long fake pearl necklaces
Choppy, often odd {dyed} hair
Alot of make up
Skinny Jeans
Big Sunglasses
Either a big canvas-bag type purse, or a small clutch with a bow on it or something
Polka Dots
Dinosaurs
Comic book heroes
Robots
Slip on vans
Converse
Big, odd rings
Shoe laces with pictures or writing on them
And a variety of other little kid like stuff.

A scene guy often attributes more to emo than the girls, the girls looking more preppy than emo.

Scene Guy's Appearance:
Bandana tied around face, hanging out of pants, and tied around thigh.
Often weirder, choppier, died hair than the girls, yet some go for a more simpler, hard core / emo do.
Tight pants
Ocaisonal make up
Tight vintage shirts
Studded belts
Converse Chucks
Vans slip ons
Various sized Gauges
Big Sunglases
Ocaisonial ripped skinny jeans
And so on.

The girls & guys tend to share appearances, and most look a little like indie rockers.

Personality wise, both boy & girl probably have pimped out myspaces, some are vegitarian, vegan, & sraightedge, most listen to anything from hardcore to electronica, most use gangsta references in their speach, most cuss, some are concieted, some are big club goers, most are bi, most live in California, some skateboard, most go to alot of shows, and they tend to hand out mainly only with eachother.
Though bashed alot for being "emo", most would probably kick your ass if you called them that, and go smoke a cigarette. They are highly advanced at html, livejournal, myspace, and the internet.
Though some are similar to emos, they're mostly rich white kids trying to be unique.
A part of a scene kid's conversation on aim:
xcuntXfacedXballerinax: Hey kidd, going to the hardxcore show tonight?
DeDXxXEm0tions: Right on, Ni99a. Oh, && I really thought your Spiderman shirt was rad, foo.
xcuntXfacedXballerinax: You know it, BIOTCH!!

Scene kids are usually annoying, conceited bitches that think they are superior to everyone else. On their MySpace profiles, they usually say something like “I’m usually nice to everyone” or “I’m probably the nicest person you’ll ever meet”, but in reality they make fun of basically anyone who isn’t one their friends. The majority of scene kids act condescending toward most people. They think they’re being funny or cool when they pretend they like “little kid things” like Carebears, Pokemon, dinosaurs, etc. They take 162,983 pictures of themselves making “scene faces”, and then edit them in photoshop to make themselves look like teh s3xx. They usually have over 500 friends on MySpace, but most of them are people that they only know over the internet and will never meet. Basically all scene kids look and dress the same, but they still think they’re unique. Most of them look like clones of one another. The typical scene girl wears a shitload of makeup, and it’s nearly impossible to determine what she actually looks like. And almost all of them have the exact same haircut, and have their hair dyed the exact same way. They like to two-step at t0tally hardxcore shows, and probably ruined hardcore music for people that actually like it.

Now I’m not saying all scene kids are like this, but probably about 98% are.
Typical “scene kid” myspace profile:
Heyyy niggaz. My names Jen. I’m probably one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet <333. Me and my friends are really random, and like robots, dinosaurs, and power rangers LMAO. My friends are probably better than you. we’re all hardxcore pokemon fans LMOA!! I like to two-step at shows and at school :]. I like to color, shop, and play candyland with my friends lmaoooo. I <3 the words cUNT, fagggg, and nigga LFMAO! I don’t consider myself scene or cool. I can be rly emotional sometimes, but I don’t let it show : \. I’m looking for a guy that’s kinda like me and isn’t conceited, mean, or stuck up. If you add me, I’ll add you back. But plz don’t add me if your ugly. kthxbyefag! <3333
