| 1. | Sepuku | ||
|
A ritual suicide practiced by samurai in Japan, usually because he has brought shame and dishonor to himself. This might have resulted from failing to protect his master, or otherwise breaking the code of bushido, "the way of the warrior". The soon-to-be-deceased kneels with a short sword in both hands, and disembowels himself. Immediately after this, the sepuku assisant, known as the kaishakunin or "second", beheads the person with a sword. The ritual goes into great detail about washing and dressing, last words, etc. The disgraced samurai was asked to commit sepuku by his superiors.

| 2. | I'm slitting my stomach | ||
|
Harakiri, seppuku, belly cutting. It's when you take a samurai sword and carve into the skin and fat of your abdomen and as you feel the pain, reach into the bloody mess and pull out your guts. Most likely you die from a lack of blood. Some more cowardly samurai would get their friend to chop off their head to ease the pain. My geisha left me, my trainer got shot with arrows, and my bird ran away...I'm slitting my stomach.
I'm a manly samurai--I'm slitting my stomach, and I don't want any assistance as I go on my instant trip to an eternal vacation. |

| 3. | hary karry | ||
|
Seppuku, (Sape-puu-kuu) the Japanese formal language term for ritual suicide (Hara-kiri Har-rah-kee-ree is the common language term.), was an integral aspect of feudal Japan (1192-1868). It developed as an integral part of the code of bushido and the discipline of the samurai warrior class.
Hara-kiri, which literally means "stomach cutting" is a particularly painful method of self-destruction, and prior to the emergence of the samurai as a professional warrior class, was totally foreign to the Japanese......All the matters relating to the act was carefully prescribed and carried out in the most meticulous manner. The most conspicuous participant, other than the victim, was the kaishaku (kie-shah-kuu), or assistant, who was responsible for cutting off the victim's head after he had sliced his abdomen open. The was generally a close friend or associate of the condemned. I had better get this report done for Mrs. Rojas before I committ hary karry.

| 7. | Abraham Lincoln | ||
|
One of the greatest presidents ever. Fought for the concept that secession was unconstitutional (as it violated the concept of democracy--if the guy you voted for lost, you have to deal with it) and aided in the disestablishment of the institution of slavery. Though the Hartford Convention did consider secession, it was not the main focus of the agenda, and was political suicide for the Federalists. Moreover, limiting free speech during times of war is not something unique, as it has happened many times since Lincoln's day. It should also be noted, secession is mentioned nowhere in the Constitution as a right, it is mentioned in the Declaration of Independance, but that was not a legal document. Therefore he didn't deny anyone anything unusual. Samurai Lincoln preserved the Union because he was a secret samurai (HAYA!).
