North Salem High School is a shitty ass school in Westchester County, North Salem, New York. This is a place where you don't want to send your children under any circumstances. The town itself is very nice, but the people who live here are a bunch of inbred fucking losers who like to get drunk 24/7. If you're poor you'd live around Peach Lake witch is where every town alcoholic lives, the party basically never stops there. And if you're anyone else you'd probably live on or next to a horse farm. The school however, is filled with a bunch of dumb whores and stupid bitches, the guys are disrespectful assholes and they treat girls like shit. The teachers suck and can't control the kids and the assistant principal doesn't know how to do his job. The high school is falling apart and there is no way in hell it can be saved. Don't send your kids there. Don't move to North Salem, NY and don't send your kids to North Salem High School, NY, there are plenty of private schools around. Save your children.

Is when journalists of established or reputable news organizations (like The Wall Street Journal, BBC or Washington Post) or smaller news reporting organizations (like the Kansas City Star or The Salem Daily News) fail to ask critical questions or raise important issues in their reporting; usually of controversial subject matter.

The phrase is borrowed from observing the behavior of domesticated cats: It is used to describe how a cat may become accustomed to food from a bag or can, and thereby, its walking circle becomes a smaller path. For example, from the place where it lounges to the place where the food is set out in a dish. This cat no longer looks under bushes and hides in a tree. It is satisfied with the little effort, and enjoys snoozing whenever it can. When comparing a native cat, their walking-about path is much larger. They might not return home for days. They enjoy spending time outdoors and scrutinizing things longer. Whereas a domesticated cat knows where to look for food, the native or natural cat might spend more time looking and actually forgo eating, to stay in place, waiting for the right bird to come along. "Pussy cat journalism" is used to describe the least path of resistance, to get the story. And because of this, the story is usually one sided or one dimensional and many important questions are not raised or dealt with in the reporting. Often times, this type of journalism is a bias journalism. It is also attributed to s... |

The richest county in Ny State, that directly borders NYC to the north, and borders CT as well. Counties north from Westchester like Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster are EXTREMELY different from Westchester. Westchester pretty much owns LI.

The Breakdown. Westchester is actually not a completely rich county. It has more racially diverse areas like Mt. Vernon, New Rochelle and Ossining and Yonkers. Yet there are extremely rich towns like Scarsdale, Armonk, Rye, Bronxville, Larchmont and Bedford which give Westchester its rich reputation. Rich and Preppy Scarsdale - quite possibly the most annoying town in Westchester as everyone there works in NYC and sends there kids to Scarsdale HS, which happens to have a great education. The old country-club town. Like a Greenwich of Westchester. Larchmont - same as above as it borders scarsdale Rye and Bronxville - Full of annoying stuck up rich kids who think they are ghetto. Rich Towns in Southern Westchester Pelham - a town w/ kids who think they are ghetto cause they live near Mt. Vernon and NYC. Harrison - everyone there is rich although there are some actual middle class residents. Northern Westchester Bedford - Very rich town with a diverse HS with kids from Mt. Kisco, Bedford Hills, Pound Ridge, and Bedford. Pound Ridge - nothing wrong here. old country town with nothing in it. Mt. Kisco - called a "rough" town in N. Westchester but its nothing like that. The only town in the area with an actual t... |

There are the Jewish/Italian towns of Armonk, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, Thornwood, Golden's Bridge, Katonah, South Salem, and Somers which get virtually no crime, it has some nice houses, but most houses are average size at about 2500-3500 square feet. This is normal for me because I live in this section of the county and most of the houses around my area have an acre of land and a house of 2500-3000 square feet with plenty of room between houses and no crime. more...
The second group of Northern Westchester is the farming communities of Bedford, Shrub Oak, Pound Ridge, Purdys, and North Salem. Most of the houses here are bigger and even further apart then the communities listed above. House size averages 3,000-4,000 square feet with occasionally bigger houses and about 2 acres of land with some houses more and some less. There is no crime at all here, the downtown of each city are very small and nice, and almost everyone here is white and mainly Italian. Finally, the most racially diverse area and the most city-feel like area of Northern Westchester is Peekskill, Yorktown Heights, and Mount Kisco. Peekskill actually has its fair share of crime in some areas and is home to the most Black people in Northern Westchester. Mount Kisco is home to the largest Mexican population in all of Westchester County. Yorktown Heights is still mainly white, but instead of the city being 95% white it is 75% white with the other percentage Hispanic and Black. These cities have great shopping. |

The Kerry detractor comments are TERRIFYING. Having just graduated from an great prep school I was lucky to be able to attend and finished two consecutive intensive US History and political science courses, these comments seem lifted straight out of everything from the Salem Witch trials to Orwell's 1984.

Someone said that Kerry is wealthier than Bush, and therefore could not legislate in any way benefiting the indigent. This seems almost too ridiculous to be sincere, but factually, all you need to do is look up pending legislation before the Senate Subcomittee on Finance and you'll see a bill Kerry has written this year called the Kids First Act which provides healthcare for children who fall below Medicaid and SCHIP cutoffs by rolling back Bush's taxcuts for people who make over 300, 000 dollars a year. Erica says that there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Even George W admits that there aren't. You've gotta stop watching so much Fox News, Erica, but it's not just you-- 46 percent of Fox viewers believe that there is a direct link between Iraq and Al-Queda, as compared to only 9 percent of PBS viewers. Also, I don't know where you learned US Government and Policy, but obviously Senators do not have the authority to issue purple hearts to themselves or anyone else. I'd love Boekenoogen to get back to me about Kerry receiving purple hearts for "splinters" when he gets back from a tour of duty in, say, Tel Aviv, gets shot at by insurgents, and saves a ... |
