Selective Text Responding

When one of the participants in a texting conversation intentionally ignores certain questions or texts because of their lack of desire to answer the question or get involved in a conversation.
"Stop selective text responding and answer my question -- do you want to go with me to my friend Marisa's surprise mini golf birthday party?"

not responding

A program that decides to not work for a period of time, due to it being busy or it is processing something, and sometimes no reason at all. Also, some programs can do this for forever and literally piss you off instantly and wanting to force quit the program in Task manager or in severe cases, throw your computer out the window.

Me: Goddammit, not again... I'll wait...

Superficial Responding

When someone says something to you, you ask them to repeat it and still don't have a clue about, so rather than asking them to repeat again, you stimulate a variety of different responses such as;
Nodding your Head
Smiling and Looking at The person
Looking Down
Agreeing
Looking Concerned

This method of reply is often useful when speaking to people with strong accents, or old people.
Dan: Wow thats a nice watch, how much was that?
Ted: What?
Dan: How much was your watch
Ted: Yes *Smiles* (Superficial Responding)

cafeteria responding

When your man only reads your texts but, doesn't answer. He picks what texts he wants to answer. Like when you are at a cafeteria picking what you'd like to eat. You choose what you want to eat.
Ugh.... Chris is the king of cafeteria responding.

My boyfriend is cafeteria responding me but, answered his best friend.

Selective Responding

A variant of selective response, emphasizing the ongoing, interactive nature of the manipulation. In selective responding, the digitallighter repeatedly picks one element from each of the targets messages—ignoring the rest—and responds only to that element, often twisting its meaning. Over multiple exchanges, the target’s original argument becomes fragmented and lost, while the digitallighter controls the flow. The target feels unheard and gaslit, unsure whether their own points were ever communicated.
Example: “Every time she tried to explain systemic factors, he’d grab a single word and argue about that instead—selective responding, turning dialogue into a hall of mirrors.”
