The last hope for humanity as a whole. The Venus Project (TVP) presents a bold, new direction for humanity that entails nothing less than the total redesign of our culture. Simply stated, a resource-based economy that uses our existing resources instead of money and provides an equitable method of distributing these resources in the most efficient manner for the entire population. It is a system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter, or any other form of debt or servitude. Watching the free online movie: Zeitgeist Addendum will provide you a better detailed understanding of what The Venus Project truly has to offer www.thevenusproject.com www.thezeitgeistmovement.com www.zeitgeistmovie.com The Zeitgeist Movement is the activist arm of The Venus Project

| 2. | R.B.E | ||
|
An R.B.E, or a Resource Based Economy, relies on the concept that abundance for all people is a much more relevant motivator than monetary incentive, with the end result being a healthy & technologically advanced society. To further clarify the concept of a resource based economy (R.B.E) consider this example: A group of people is stranded on an island with enormous purchasing power including gold, silver and diamonds. All this wealth would be irrelevant to their survival if the island had few resources such as food, clean air, and water. Only when population exceeds the productive capacity of the land do problems such as greed, crime, and violence emerge. On the other hand, if people were stranded on an island that was abundant with natural resources producing more than the necessities for survival, then a monetary system would be irrelevant. It is only when resources are scarce that money can be used to control their distribution. One could not, for example, sell the air we breathe, the sand on the beach, or the salt water in the ocean to someone else on the island who has equal access to all these things. In a resource-based economy all of the world's resources would be held as the common heritage of all of the earth's people, thus eventually outgrowing the need for the artificial boundaries that separate people – this is the unifying imperative.

| 3. | Mineral line | ||
|
Mineral Line is a term that refers to the space between a group of mineral patches and a gathering facility (e.g. a Hatchery) in which worker units (e.g. Drones) move back and forth, gathering and returning minerals. Mineral Line Saturation refers to how many workers there are in the mineral line in comparison to how many mineral patches there are. Generally a ratio of about 3 workers to 1 mineral patch is ideal, but sometimes less or more workers are used. The mineral line is a very fragile and important part of a game because it dictates the economy of a player. Because of this, mineral lines are often the first thing to be assaulted during a successful attack, and are frequently the target of Harassment. Day9 forgot to build photon cannons for defense and now his probe count and economy is in disarray because he allowed hellions into his mineral line.

| 5. | alternet | ||
|
A global system implemented by 2050 replacing the old data-exchange system of the turn of the century known as the "internet" (aka deadnet). The hierarchical structure of the original system was the inherent security flaw that led to its distrust and collapse during the later global corporate revolts. more...
The Alternet is a decentralized, peer-to-peer internet used for political, economic and social activities across the planet. It was implemented to serve as the stateless conduit for a new multimetric politico-economy and social forum to ensure direct democracy and human egalitarianism. The system is completely wireless unlike the strict hierarchical structure of old that sent data across decaying copper-wire infrastructure. Each device directly participating in this system is called an io. Data spreads in waves across the entire system so that each io can individually process collective user input locally rather than trusting a remote server owned by another to handle and dissipate bitstreams. Secure information is first encoded before similarly waving across random paths of the web. Instead of a centralized system of ip addressing, each new io is automatically added to the existing collectively shared indexing system without the need for manual assignment. Every person has the constitutional right to own and access an io since it is the means by which one's democratic participation is shared. Linked to each io may be several local devices such as homepliances and wallfaces. |

It has ten provinces, three territories, and is an officially bilingual and multicultural country (English and French), as both these ideals are enshrined in it's constitution. Canada is largely a resource economy, with vast reserves of natural gas, oil, nickel, uranium, and other minerals. Interesting fact: Canada at present emits more carbon into the atmosphere per capita than the United States. At present, Canada does not have nuclear weapons capability, and has no plans to do so in the foreseeable future due to it's close proximity to a country with a huge nuclear capabilty that dwarfs all other nations. Canada's rather small but disciplined military is playing a more active role in protecting it's northern boundaries, due to the untapped economic potential of natural resources and, interestingly, the possible future development of the North West passage as a viable direct transportation link between North America and Eurasia, as a result of global warning trends in that region. Canada's forces are also playing an active role in Afghanistan (as of March 2007), where it's ground forces are engaged in fighting Taliban. This is a very devisive topic for many Canadians, many of them wondering why we are fighting a group of people who were at one time funded by the U.S. (see The Mujahadeen)... |
