Contrary to popular belief, QQ is not a set of crying eyes. It actually originated with the advent of Warcraft II. On battlenet, you could press ALT+Q+Q to immediately exit the match and program. Thus the term "QQ" was to tell people to just quit because they are unskilled. The term later developed and lost it's origin and is usually mistaken as crying eyes.
In contemporary gamer culture, QQ has become the mainstream emoticon for crying eyes, though it is still often used in it's traditional sense. "Shut up or QQ!"
"Why don't you QQ, noob?" |

Originally started in Warcraft, where Alt+QQ is a hotkey to quiting the game.
When someone bitches or whines everyone would say 'QQ', telling them to quit the game because they suck so much. It often confuses people into thinking that it means, "Cry more noob", but this is totally incorrect. The fact that 'QQ' looks like a pair of teary eyes is just a mere coincidence. "Quit bitching. Just QQ already."

There are 3 ways to use it. 1.(popularized by the game warcraft) QQ which means Just quit your bad or just quit 2.QQ as in Quit Crying or your crying. Showing tears(although not the true meaning and orgin of it, that is how some people use it) 3. However in games especially warcraft it means, Stop Crying and Quit... Quer - "Dude, your garbage I can't play with a idiot like you."
Doer - "QQ" Quer - "Dude you suck, why don't you leave for us" |

Meaning "go cry noob" or "go cry" on online gaming. Used when players complain about something in game that does not have any merit except for their own uninformed opinions or bad personal experiences with the subject at hand. Contrary to the other definitions this is neither a set of crying eyes, nor does this phrase come from the ability to alt+q+q out of b.net in Warcraft II. "QQ" comes from the chinese language in which the word for "cry" is pronounced "ku". However, it is difficult to quickly type a set of strokes to form a word, thus, Chinese gamers could quickly type "QQ" instead. Omg dude I totally would’ve owned you if you weren’t a LPB!
Shut up, go QQ nub. |
