|57.||am I being punk'd?|
An expression of surprise and disbelief that is uttered when one is in a situation that is perceived to be rediculous or beyond belief. Usually said when a person assumes that they are being fooled or made the butt end of a practical joke; not wanting to face the facts of a real situation.
Originating from the TV show hosted by Ashton Kutcher called punk'd where he plays practical jokes on fellow celebrities deceiving them into accepting a crazy scenario or situation is real.
Jackass: dude, your house burned down and everyone you love is dead! Oh, and your girlfriend is cheating on you!
Pedro: What?! Am I being punk'd?
A house that punks usually hang out at, have concerts and parties there. Out of town bands that come through to play are usually able to stay for free and get gas money from the show.
Hey man, have you heard of that punk house that they have shows at?
A loud fast rock music that usually deals with issues of depression, cutting your self, crying, and being a friendless loser. They have long straight dyed hair and both sexes wear tight pants and have a lot of striped and checkered paterns. Punk rockers shop at punk stores like Hot Topic and buy all the latest gothic punk styles from the greatest punk store on earth 1976-2006 30 years of punk. ROCK ON!!
Avril Lavigne, Senses Fail, Hawthorne Heights, Silverstien, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Coheed and Cambria, Fall Out Boy ect. are all examples of punk rock music.
It has nothing to do with Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, X, Black Flag, Bad Religion, Sham 69, Dead Kennedys, or any of those other old rock, not punk bands!
1. someone who roams the city streets who has magical powers to get what he/she wants
2. a song from Van Halen's self-titled debut album that describes such a person. Check out Eddie Van Halen's really boss guitar work on that track.
3. a video game that was released in the early 90s. Similar in setup and play to the 80s game "Dig Dug".
1. I'm bad. I'm the atomic punk.
2. No one rules these streets at night but me!
The atomic punk!
3. I went to the Flamingo arcade today and played "Atomic Punk".
a good genre of music except the "true" fans have their heads so far up their asses about "being different". just listen to the music if its good than who cares what the media label it as. who cares people say green day and the offspring are hardcore punk. i mean they are great bands but are def not hardcore punk.
loser: i hate the offspring just cause other people like them. no body can like what i like cause i am so different than everyone else cause im a punk.
|62.||Fall Out Boy|
A band formed in Chicago. Currently their members are Patrick Stump (rythm guitar, vocals, music composer), Joe Trohman (guitar), Andy Hurley (drums), and Pete Wentz (second vocals, bass, and lyric composer). Theyre name is usually shortened to FOB. Their name comes from Fallout Boy, which was screamed to them when they asked for possible band names. Fallout Boy is Radioactiveman's sidekick.more...
Their discography include:
Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend (2002)
Take This to Your Grave (2003), Gold
From Under the Cork Tree (2005), Platinum (x3)
Infinity on High (2007), Platinum
As for their media attention, Joe + Andy get 5% of it, Patrick 25%-40%, Pete all the rest... even you can note this in their videos, as, whos the protagonist of Dance, Dance; who gets to be Blade on A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me", who gets to die in This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race, or who gets to kiss the girl (she was hot...) on Thnks Fr Th Mmrs.
They have good musci though. Even after being labeled emo, most people that label them this way don't know shit 'bout emo. It's called Pop-punk, dum...
Punk is an attitude. The attitude is I am unique, I'm not a follower. I do what I like because that's ME. Mostly punks have had an anti big government message. The True punks of the 70's: Ramones, Clash, Melvin's they didn't wear the clothes the punks do today. The look you see now is 80's "NewWave": zippers, pins, mo or fauhawks and bleached or crayola colored hair.
True punks just exist the don't try to stand out or cause trouble. Punks are peaceful creatures that want equality for all. When I see the punks of today with the anti-capitalism message wearing the HotTopic or Angry, Young and Poor clothes I laugh my a$$ off. Guess what droog? you've just put more money in to the capitalism machine! Think about it! Todays Punks (teenie boppers under age 21) are either having an identity crisis or just like to be seen. aka POSER.
