Punk is a type of music.

Punk is a way of thinking.

Punk is a way of believing.

Punk is not what you wear.

Punk is not Blink-182. (Sorry, folks...)

Punk is not Sum 41!

Punk, is believing what you what to believe. Punk is going against the world. Punk is not caring who stares at you says "OH MY, WHAT AN AWFUL PERSON THAT MUST BE!". Punk is feeling what you want to feel, being who you want to be, punk is being somebody.

Punk is not what you see television! Or hear on the radio. Or read about in books or magazines! Punk is not about being like all the guys with mohawks and chelseas!

PUNK IS ABOUT BEING DIFFERENT! IT'S ABOUT HAVING VOICE AND AN OPINION!

And it doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, happy or sad, black or white, catholic or atheist. It doesn't matter if you live in a house, an apartment, a basement or on the street! PUNK ACCEPTS ANYBODY! ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY!
"Oh, I'm so punk, because, I just bought a Sex Pistols t-shirt!"= No.

In MTV's eyes, punk is any band with low self esteam that breaks curfew to look cool.

A real punk doesn't give a shit about relationships, he'd just slap the bitch.

BTW Punks naturally have black around their eyes from binge drinking. Good Charlotte just uses it for makeup to look "cool"
MTV: She broke my heart, im cry for three hours!!

PUNK: FUCK ALL MODS, FUCK ALL MODS!!!!

when you listen to punk, it makes you feel angry and alive, you want to make shit and fuck shit up, and in that moment you really honestly don't give a fuck what anybody thinks about you. that's what punk is about. it doesn't matter what you look like or what you listen to; it's about feeling that raw energy. punk is like the statue you get to touch in a museum full of things you have to stand six inches away from. and now you're going to make it yours.
seriously, put on some punk and see if you can feel it.

Pre-Sid Vicious, pre-any stringy young male, "Punk" referred to the passive or "bottom" partner in a male-on-male prison sexual relationship. (The dominant or "top" man was called the "jock" or "jocker".) Since the punk was usually the scrawnier and younger of the two, that meaning of the term escaped into the general culture and eventually became attached to young, rebellious men fronting kick-ass rock bands.
(Description of a prison killer in Truman Capote's IN COLD BLOOD 1966): "Just two jockers fighting over a punk."

Ideally, a style of music in which a small group of informed and active people get together and produce a raw, simplistic, chord-driven sound to back up lyrics that expose problems in the world and usually incite anger and energy.

If done wrong, however, it results in a bunch of freaks with dyed hair banging away on guitars and yammering about American idiots.
Punk's not dead
It just deserves to die

1-A teenage boy who gets cornholed in prison by an adult man

2-A form of music that used to be relevant 20 plus years ago but is now more about look than attitude
1-"Nigga, you be my punk. Now bend over," Tookie Williams, RIP

2-The Ramones and the Misfits were extremely energetic, exciting, hard rock bands that were punk rock without even having to try hard at all.

Any band where the singer wears a sweater or clothes he bought at the mall and sings about 11 y/o girls and/or breaks into a rap in the middle of the song is a mall punk and not to be taken seriously by anyone over the age of 15.
