pretendies

Slang for mid-grade pot. Short for "pretend kind" buds. Usually a kind strain but poorly grown or accidently allowed to germinate from male plants. Still better than schwag, but not as good as kind. Going rates in Boulder, CO..

kind bud...$50 per 1/8th ounce. Very nice. No seeds. Smells/tastes great. 1-3 hits should do you. See Northern Lights.

Pretendies...$100 per ounce. Usually green and fluffy. Perhaps some seeds. Smells/tastes good. May need 2-5 hits for nice groove. Sometimes called beesters.

Schwag...$60 per ounce. Can be dark green or brown. Lots of seeds. Sometimes formed in brick squares. Smells/tastes earthy or like dirt. Will need 4+ hits to get high. Sometimes only produces headache.
Dude, I can't get any kind buds. How 'bout we buy some pretendies?

Pretendies

As of 2026 a company by the name Pro-Circa founded by J.R. DePew is the sole proprietor of the Pretendies marijuana strain.
The Pretendies strain of marijuana is a very potent Mexican Sativa.

How Pro-Circa Saved the Pretendies Strain:

In 1995 there was a specific type of top quality green bud going around the United States called Pretendies. At first glance Pretendies looked just like any of the indoor kind-bud strains going around. But Pretendies had seeds. Curious why there were seeds I looked further into the background of the Pretendies strain. I asked some trusted friends who were plugged into the Pretendies pipeline.
People who were supplying Pretendies to the mid-west US at this time explained to me how every year they take a Greyhound bus from Boulder Colorado to Tucson Arizona, pick up 20 pounds, and bring it back to Boulder to sell on the streets. This was my introduction to the Pretendies strain.

Mexico:
Pretendies is a 1990s Mexican cartel variety. Pretendies contained seeds because it was cultivated in large fields near Cancun’s tropical coastlines and then smuggled into the United States near Tucson Arizona. Pretendies flooded into Colorado in the mid to late 1990s and became a very popular strain within the Rocky mountain towns of Colorado. Pretendies was also especially beloved and well known by the hippie communities during this time period. Pretendies once popular and widely recognized on the streets slowly faded into obscurity by the early 2000s.
Pro-Circa is the only company currently cultivating the Pretendies strain.

Power Couple

A relationship between two people who are equally as cool as each other. They are as individually awesome and fun to be around as they are when they are together.

Neither one depends on the other for their feelings of self worth- they know in their heart that they are just as valuable to the world as the other. Good looking, optimistic, and sparks a light in the world that people recognize that goes beyond a normal relationship.

In a power couple, if one person is flawed, the other person makes up for their weaknesses in strength. Together they are the epitome of what anyone would desire in a relationship. They encourage goodness in the world and make it a better place by being together.
I'm a fan of those two, they are such a power couple, the epitome of what anyone would want in a relationship.

I am envious of them because they are a power couple.

Shackteâu

A Shackteau is a humble, weather-beaten, structurally questionable shelter located in a spectacular or highly coveted place—Wales, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Crested Butte, coastal Maine, the Alps—where the building itself may be worth almost nothing, but the dirt, view, access, and mythology make it absurdly valuable.
