postmodernist relativism pomo
postmodernist isn't defined yet, but these are close:
1. Postmodernist Business Punks
The Postmodernist Business Punks (PDPs) are a collection of American and British executive class asswipes who know nearly nothing about History, Geology, Paleontology, Biology, French, Spanish, English, Art, Geomorphology, the Classics, Physics, Astronomy, Comp-Sci, IT, etc., yet are gifted into positions where they just basically run shit into the ground, wrecking companies but bailing out just in time to get another job at another company only to do it all over again.
"The Free Market created the Earth in seven days," intoned Phred, as he was explaining to his crew about how money = God.

Phred is clearly one of the Postmodernist Business Punks.
2. postmodernism
A reaction to the work of Modern philosophers, most of whom created vast systems of meaning founded upon one central concept. In many religions, the central and beginning premise is some supreme being or concept. The postmodernist critique removes that central concept, it "decenters" the system of meaning. Postmodernism points out that all systems of meaning are in constant negotiation and flux, therefore claims of transcendant morality are suspect.

Furthermore, postmodernism critiques all claims of "objective" truth by revealing that human subjectivity always exists in every truth proposition. Due to the pervasive effects of subjectivity, postmodernist critiques are critical of all sweeping claims concerning social policy, truth, justice, morality, and ethics.

Finally, postmodernism is a school of thought which examines the traditional "either/or" dichotomies in modern philosophy, and reveals that these supposedly neutral dichotomies actually favor one side over the other. (Good/Evil, Above/Below, Male/Female)
Example one:
Modern Philosopher: "The word "justice" means ______"

Postmodernist: " The term 'justice' means many different things, depending on the subjective positions of the members of the discussion. Outside any discussion of 'justice', there is no meaning which we can find. 'Justice' 'exists' so long as we negotiate its meaning as between ourselves in our society."

Example Two:
Ignoramus: "Postmodernism means _______"
"Postmodernist" : " The label 'postmodern' applies in many different contexts, and it cannot be abstracted into only one meaning or definition, for that defies the very essence of 'postmodern', which of course is a non-essence. "

3. Modern Art
Someone bought more burgers and fries than they could eat at a drive-thru McDonald's in the boondocks. Thirty miles down the road they tossed the leftovers out the window. The leftovers fermented in the sun and five days later a great big dog wandered by, thought the mess smelled appetising and ate it. The meal played havoc with the dog's nervous system and it went quite wild. The next time a car came by the dog took a flying leap through the windscreen

4. historicide
The murder of history; accomplished when a historian leans too far to the postmodernist/relativist or too far to the scientific/objectivist side of the spectrum.
Gibbon nearly committed historicide back there. Thank goodness Ranke has sorted us all out.
5. pomo
an aesthetic style characterized by overt (and usually obnoxiously cartoonish) semantic references, deriving from the postmodernist period of architecture and design (the 80's).
Venturi's newest house is far too pomo for my taste

6. Irish bard
Modern day leprechaun. Wizard of wonderful turn of phrase and inventor of words, a media manipulator, an ironical yet optimistic postmodernist. Storyteller, prime minister and/or comedian.
'Beaumargi! An indonesian greeting!' says the Irish bard. But it could just be a contraction of 'Beautiful Margaret'.
7. balamory
A postmodernist masterpiece disguised as children's television.

OF course, if you are three like the intended audience, you may watch it to learn how the writers would LIKE the world to be...

...If we existed in a Communist Utopia; notice how Pocket and Sweet never charge for the items in their shop - probably because they were produced by the people for the people.

Everybody has a role and nobody ever suffers an existential crisis. They are all very happy. And so they should be.

Then again it may just be a light, fluffy, fun, brightly coloured kiddies TV show that people of all ages can veg out in front of and enjoy watching. I know I do!
Watch it for an example of the BBC's finest produce :P
