Cinema which uses third world cultures as a platform to to sell movies to first world audiences.
Living the life of a poor person vicariously through the cinema. Indirectly experiencing the life of a third world person through cinema; "I will eat my gourmet popcorn and sip on my latte while watching the slums in India from the point of view of an English Director while reclining in a posh American suburban theater." We watched the movie about slum children and felt vicarious excitement. I’ve seen a lot of controversial opinions about Slumdog Millionaire, like: “it’s porno of the poor” which might be true, but let’s judge the movie as a movie not as a real life comment on poverty, at least it is not Born into Brothels...
