People's Republic of Pineland

Used in Army Special Forces community as the ficticous name for about 14 or 15 counties of North Carolina.

While going through Special Forces training the final element is a several week long exercise called Robin Sage. It takes place in these counties of N.C. During the exercise you plan and carry out operations as though you're in the imaginary People's Republic of Pineland. The exercise starts with a parachute infiltration of Pineland followed by a series of exercises training "guerillas" operating in the area.

Every once in a while a soldier going through the SF Q course will accidentally interact with a local who doesn't realize their in Pineland. But most of the locals in the community will particiapte in the exercise playing civilians and are aware the Army uses the area they live in for training. A local sherrif once shot a couple soldiers who thought he was part of the exercise after they tried to bribe him with Pineland money.
Soldier 1: how ya doing buddy?

Soldier 2: got my ass through SERE, now its on to the People's Republic of Pineland and I'm done.

hinterland

Hinterland is probably German, because it is. It basically means as rural as you can get within range of a city. The phrase can also apply to any area in the stix, or way far out dude.
Jonas: Where does Steve live again? I always see him taking the 116 bus home.

Alistair: He lives way out in the English hinterland, up by Hemingstone. How the fuck did he get here?

Jonas: Probably banged a lot of important people.

Alistair: Yup.

Peterland

1.Any place gays congregate, especially bars near airports. From the Family Guy episode "E. Peterbus Unum."

2.The originall name that was intended for the great Former Republic of Petoria, only to be scrapped by Peter Griffin because a gay bar down by the airport had already taken the name.
Jim: "Lets go to San Francisco for spring break."

Bob: "Hell no! I ain't gonna spend my spring break in Peterland!"

Pinteraddict

A person who stays up hours beyond their bedtime looking at and/or pinning items to Pinterest.
Pinteraddict: I can't stop searching other people's pinterest boards and creating boards of my own. Oh there's another thing I can pin to my **** board (think to myself: but will probably never do)

Hubby: Honey, you're still up?

Pinteraddict: Uh, yeah?

Hubby: You almost done?

Pinteraddict: yeah, almost done.

2 hours later....

Hubby: Seriously? Do you know what time it is?

Me: just finishing up -_-

The Interlands

That wide swath of land in the US between the East Coast and the West Coast. People who live in the Interlands tend to have quite different views on religion, politics, and social issues from those that live on the Coasts
Maya: "I have to drive through the Interlands on my way to LA to see my girlfriend"
Luis: "Good luck, don't get lynched by some rednecks or join a religious cult"
