| 44. | Mashupera | ||
|
Noun. A piece of music consisting of disparate elements, a number of which have been appropriated from other recordings in much the same way as a mashup. In contrast to a mashup, a key element of a mashupera is its link to opera music. The use of the word "opera" denotes that the piece either features samples of opera music or is longer in length than a mashup ("opera" therefore functions in the same way as in the term "rock opera" to suggest the epic and theatrical nature of the piece). "Treetops McPhoenix has released 'Oedipus Rex: A Tragicomic Mashupera in Ten Parts', which samples Stravinsky's opera-oratoria and combines a dizzying array of genres."

A dramatic voice is just that: powerful, substantial, edgy, vigorous, and heavy with emotion. The weight of the voice affects agility, but it allows them to sing over a full orchestra with little trouble. These are the singers who are imagined blasting the walls from buildin... |

| 49. | soap opera | ||
|
A weekday drama airing during the daytime, intended for women (particularly "homemakers"/"at-home moms"), known for excessively emotional acting and shallow plots and scripts. Soap operas are so-called because the earliest dramas, which originated in the 1950s and 1960s, were sponsored by soap-making companies such as Proctor & Gamble. My wife's favorite soap opera is Days Of Our Lives. Or is it All My Children?
