This is the act of raising ones voice in order to get louder than another person that is currently speaking.

To raise your voice another octave.

Octopate

To octopate, octopation
To latch on to a person in a long-lasting, unwanted hug. Something similar to a glomp, except an octopation usually ends in a shove and a scream. Sometimes met with writhing and the yell of "RAPE! RAPE!"

1-"I tried to glomp Dave and he threw me off!"
"Wow, that's odd. He must have been having a bad day, it's really hard to octapote him."
2-"Marita totally octopated me outside my English class. Ew."
