n00b is a derivitive of the word "noobie", which is a cooler way of saying "newbie". n00b's are people who aren't good at online gaming. Usually, people call others "n00b's" after they beat them in a game. A newb is someone who is new to a game, whether they're good or not. A noob doesn't necessarily mean someone who is new to the game, it is mostly referring to someone who isn't good at the game.

All the different ways of saying "Newbie" refer to gaming, if the ones who are speaking it are talking about gaming.

A gun, most often in Counter Strike or a similar video game that is so good that nobody except a n00b uses it.

A n00b is one who is unskillful or new to anything at all. Originated from the word NEWBIE (someone who is new to something), which was shortened to newb, then phonetically spelled with two o's, then by a random twist of fate, had zeros replace the o's. N00b is also primarily found in online based videogames such as counterstrike and halo. Many times after pwning a n00b you teabag him, in order for him to realize his n00byness.

A n00b can also be used as a basic insult, that is applicable to anyone, anytime, anywhere; and is often followed up with a tagged phrase.

2. A word overused by geeks with delusions of superiority who think they are cool because they have no life and play computer games 24/7. It is often, for no apparent reason, spelled with zeros instead of O's, another geek thing, e.g. n00b instead of noob.

The most overused word on earth, which has been used for years by real gaming veterans but which now is used by a variety of douche bags who can't possibly comprehend that it doesn't matter that they can win at video games. The real sad part is that people still take offense to being called a n00b.

A n00b is not knowing what a n00b is.

The most vicious and foul name to call a gamer. It is not to be used lightly and used only under extreme circumstances where it is pivotal to put a n00b back in his/her place.
